They call several times a night - and when we answer it is just dead air - I am on the do not call list already - is there anything we can do to stop these types of calls??

Same here,got a call and then a hangup when answered. Googled and found this site. I made a complaint to the donotcall folks. I will research having the number blocked.

It's funny how all you people say you are going to complain and get PMR fined and sued but no follow up story about the outcome. I guess everybody failed at that.

We are all people that need jobs.The "paying customers" are only paying to collect data from you, which you can voluntarily - and politely - choose to give or choose not to give. Suck up people's time? What do you have to do that's better? Watch American Idol? Take a long comfy crap while reading the paper? You can choose to give your time voluntarily or not. Shame on you, for looking down your nose at someone that doesn't really want to call you, but needs a job. Even ditches need to be dug.

Wrong, Liz, get your facts straight! There are classes of companies/organizations that are INITIALLY exempt from the Do Not Call list. Key word is INITIALLY. Each INTIALLY exempt company must be told directly ONCE not to call. Once an INITIALLY exempt company is told "Put me on your Do Not Call list" then they are no longer exempt and are required from that point on to follow the federal Do Not Call list laws and are subject to fines for continuing violations. No one is permanently exempt. If you do not directly tell these INITIALLY exempt companies not to call you then you are leaving yourself open to them continuing to call, until you do tell them to stop. This applies to ALL those INITIALLY exempt from the Do Not Call list regardless of exemption type - charity, political, research, prior business relationship, etc.

So dig one and bury yourself in it. We ALL would be better off if you did.And STOP CALLING STRANGERS.

Called today and hung up. Filed complaint because they have called before in the past.

Caller ID: Renton WAI received an intrusive and annoying call at night. I hung up because I suspected fraud; a legitimate and ethical caller would not conduct business in such a manner.

Maybe they should call these people who "would love to give their opinions about anything" instead of waking up babies in the middle of the night.
