They do call a lot, wow. But come on, do you need to call the FCC? It's a Blood Bank, not someone trying to sell you siding.
The easiest way to get them to stop is by DONATING BLOOD! It is super annoying to get 3 calls from them a day, but if they didn't do this then I wouldn't be donating blood 6 times a year. Donate and they won't call you for 56 days!
I have recieved 5 calls today so far, three from (800) 398-7888, and now I am getting called from (425) 732-3247. Both from Puget Sound Blood Center, tricky! I usally donate at Red Cross sites, the one time I donated with Puget Sound Blood Center, I get called several times every couple of months.
This is the blood bank calling. I find all of the people who seem to be IGNORING the multiple attempts to solve the problem by the manager of the actual bloodbank rather appauling. He has stated clearly to email or call him. That's all it takes. Yes, it's annoying that they call and bother you, but you have been given a easy solution to it. Plus, they are non-profits and probably work on insanely small budgets-- no wonder they ended up with a crappy database system. Keep in mind that they had to pay to try to get someone to fix it and that probably wasn't cheap. Plus he stated that as a non-profit they can't access the DNC registry and offered to PERSONALLY work with you to remove your number. I swear some people today are just so angry all the time that they lash out at anyone. What if there were some huge level disaster in the Seattle area and you needed some of that blood?!?
Its the Puget Sound Blood Bank... I caled them back... its their automated system that calls you and then connects you with a customer service rep.
I think you may be the angry one, SnohoGuy. Some of us cannot donate blood. Perhaps this has never occurred to you? I am battling cancer and the chemo is exhausing. I need to rest. As much as I would like to be able to donate blood, I can't. I have been getting at least three calls each day from PSBC since the beginning of 2009, and to an unlisted number at that. The blood shortage is severe and I understand that. But I think that PSBC is losing more in good will than it is gaining by these phone calls. It's time for a different plan. I thank John Reagan for his post. I have called the number he listed and I hope the calls will stop. These calls are not only annoying; they are damaging to what I hope will be a recovery.
I wasn't sure what PSBC was until getting so many got me curious so here I am. I get that they need donations, but do they need to call 5 times in an hour? Pushy much? Sheesh. Yeah, I'm calling that guy above like NOW.
