I am in Georgia and I just received a call on my cell (T Mobile) from that number a few minutes ago. I didn't answer it as it only rang one time but I called back and it said the number was no longer in service. I googled the number and it said something about a vehicle warranty scam.

A tape recording said they were making a last call about my warranty before it expires. Then I was put on hold. The background voice said something like "hold for your next sales representative," but of course I wasn't buying anything. Then a live voice answered and asked whether I was inquiring about renewing a current or extending an expiring warranty. I asked, "Warranty on what vehicle?" He said "All of them." I said "I don't understand." And he said, "Well, you DO understand what a WARRANTY is... DON'T YOU?" I paused, thinking about exactly what debasing invective to hurl his way, when he said something like "Hello? Are you there?" When I said, "Well that's about the most smartalec response I've ever heard," he hung up. You've got to love it when the telemarketer hangs up on YOU!

I got this as well on my business Blackberry. It's annoying. No one on the line. No message. I wonder if they are just checking to see if you answer and if your number is valid? Worst of all is the air time I have to pay for trying to call back, thinking I might have missed an important business call...

Got a call from this number at 4:00pm July 7, 2008 CST. My iPhone says it's from PA, USA.

Just got a call, no message, live in CA, July 8. Looks like they're hitting everyone.

Got the call on my cell phone and then on my work line. Didn't answer my cell but my assistant said it was a hangup when she answered. This HAS to be in violation of some privacy rights laws.

I didn't answer, just typed in the number and found this forum. How strange!
