Foreign accent caller from a company called TECH SUPPORT. They did research last week and identified my name and number from my warranty information I filed with Toshiba. Caller said that I had downloaded some malware and they would need my permission to remove it, for a fee....of course!!! Let me just run grab you all my bank information!!! Sounded more and more like a scam the longer I listened. Why am I even on the "Do Not Call Registry"?
I got a call also. Person sounded like he as from India. He told me I needed to go to the Microsoft console screen. He kept asking me what my computer screen looked like and I repeatedly asked him how to get to it He finally got upset with me. I yelled at him and hung up. Yep, it sounds like a scam or he would have known how to get to the console.

I called Citibank's other number and confirmed this was their Consumer Support number. It is legitimate. Processed the information they needed to verify my account. I originally thought it was fraud but it is real.

We receive calls at our place of business from these people every day and they claim to be with Spectrum. It sounds like a call center in India; noisy background noise and each person who calls has a strong accent.

Evidently gets next if kin names from obituaries and calls them all, over and over. Will not say what they are calling about until you give birthdate and ssn of the deceased.
