Just got a call on my cell phone. Don't know anyone from Arkansas. Didn't answer....left no message.

I answered and a recording said "Invalid extension, please call again". That's weird since I didn't call them. Caller ID said Arkansas.

I just got a call from this number, I answered it and it was a robocall/automated telemarket message saying it was sarah from consumer credit services, trying to get me to buy their services to lower my credit card rates. I hung up on the robocall and called it back and it was a busy signal. I've been on the do not call list for over 3 years. I'm reporting this number for violating DNC.

Called me tonight. I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, so I sent them to voicemail. No message left. It appears that they are just a spammer spoofing a number.

Called my cell no message, now blocked.

The number that crooks give is often made-up. The person calling may be living in Russia or China. They only want to talk to any person who answers their call. Some hang up as soon as they hear an answering machine; they figure most people will not call back. And they don't want to be traced. In fact they (or a "robot"/computer program) dials many numbers at once and if any person/human answers, they or it hang up or drop all the other numbers they called. They don't want to waste their time on unproductive calls. That increases the probability that they can sell junk or else steal your personal information.

The do not call list is only honored by legitimate businesses. Crooks use fake phone numbers, so they are less likely to be traced. Governments do try to do their best catching these crooks & every now and then scammers are caught & put out of business. But there are a lot of crooks out there (many overseas) & they crookedly use technology to their advantage. If you have a phone number with 7 or 10 digits or more, any joker or any crook can & will call you. Only way not to be called is to have no phone. They are harder to stop or get rid of than fire ants or mosquitos. So don't get angry just blow then off. Use caller ID, block their numbers, have all calls automatically go to an answering machine or service (some apps are free), etc.

You can't even get many or most honest people to obey simples rules, such as posted speed limits on streets, much less stop crooks, sophisticated or not, "small fry" or "organized crime syndicates from trying to make "easy money". They don't even know what a DNC list is: if you have a phone you are on their own DCN, "definitely call numbers" list.
