They do not do ANY sales of any kind!

Bernett is a data collection center that conducts surveys to make money. Calling people over and over again who don't want to talk to them isn't making them any money. They want to talk to people who are receptive to doing surveys. If you ask them to remove your number (either by calling their caller ID line or entering it on their site), they remove you from their list because they would be wasting time and money by continuing to call you. There is no sneaky motivation/reason for them to call you after you have made it clear that you don't want to talk to them. This line of paranoid thinking is a little ridiculous... what do you think that Bernett Research possibly has to gain if you enter your phone number on their do not call list? They obviously ALREADY have your number if they're calling you to begin with. Instead of letting your phone ring over and over again day after day, just pick it up and say "Add me to your do not call list." Those are the magic words! While Bernett doesn't subscribe to the National Do Not Call List, they do maintain their own internal list to ensure that they aren't calling people who don't want to be called.

They call me two three times a day and then hang up! What are they researching? Who are they?

They called and identified themselves as California Institute of Technology. Wanted my wife. Asked for her by name. The y are Bernett Research dba Mercury. Research firm so the do not call registry does not apply. Based upon information below I called Cathy Williams, who is a project manager at 208-232-8890 x 23 and left message. I called Trent Boot next at 541-223-0050. He is no longer there, Jocelyn answers phone. She said that should remove us from the list. By the way they are exempt because they don't sell anything. Just our names, our views and our phone numbers, and they don't share with us. A---holes... I suggest people who look 503-575-7964 up call the responsible individuals and complain.
