wow you guys are effin paranoid!!!! Put down the national enquirer and chill out. Everything is gonna be okay. If you still have an issue, move to Canada. Atleast the government here screws you right in front of your face so you know you're being screwed, none of that sneaking around horsepoo.Other than that...yeah these people are scammers probably much like those nigerian e-mails you get saying "we're giving you 1,000,000.00...just send us all of your personal information and we'll cut you a cheque" it happens all the time. the best thing you can do is report it to your service provider, block the number or don't answer the phone when its a number you don't know, and hope for the best.
with regards to how they get our numbers, i wonder if they go through lists alphabetically because i also got a call around the same time and date as the poster "carolyn" and my name is very similar to that... sooo annoying, not like complaining will do much about it... but i thank those of you that do... i on the other hand am busy caring for my newborn baby and am so angry with these types of calls, especially when it wakes me or especially the baby , grr
I received a call from 508-575-6868. I did not answer, and they did not leave a message.
On my telus cell phone. Only 4 people have the number, so it is obviously harvested from some official documents somewhere. I wish cell companies would keep better control of their records and documents. I live in Delta, BC (area code 604)
I keep getting calls from this number as well, just recently with a message. It was 3 seconds of nothing then a hang up. I did a little research, apparently it's a landline from Taunton, Massachusetts.
On my Fido phone got the call from this number and when I looked it up, first thing I find is this site. Some stupid scam as usual. Hope someone shuts down these clowns.
Received a call that specifically identified my carrier as Bell, stating that I had won a prize.
