We've gotten called 8 times in the past week by these people. Caller ID just lists the number, and says "OHIO," they never leave a message. We haven't been home to answer, so I'm not sure who/what is on the other end (maybe just a computer) but I've been told that some of these telemarketers have computers that call just to record whether or not you answer the phone, so they can know what times of day you're home. I generally don't answer it if I don't recognize the number, just in case that's true.
YAY...got ahold of a live person who apologized and said I would be removed from their list right away! Open 24 hours as it is 10:30 pm here.Call:MRSI National Telephone Interviewing Center:110 Boggs Lane, Suite 380 Cincinnati, Ohio 45246 513-772-7580
I used to get calls ALL the time from these type of places... called/complained to phone co. with NO help.. soooo I did some thinking... the next call I got I did answer it but then just put the phone on the chair and left it for about 45 mins. to 1 hr. Sure others couldn't call but I was at my end with these calls, anyway after this time I hung-up and I have not got a call since!!! I asked around and was told that many of these type calls are computer generated and since I didn't "release" the call by hanging up they could not call other people but best of all the computer didn't want to get "locked" on my number again so it doesn't call anymore. Try it , it may work for you too! MH in KS
I did not answer the call. This number had also called earlier in the day per my caller ID. I called the number back and the recorded message stated that is was a company called MRSI which conducts market research on behalf of various companies. They also stated that since they don't sell or solicit, that they are not subject to the do not call registry. I don't care whether they are trying to sell or solicit or not. I don't want them calling me. The recorded message did leave a website that you can go to to have your number removed from their list, but I hate the idea of them then having my email as well.
I called the number given by H.Web in an earlier post (513-772-7580) and a woman answered "MRSI." I just told her I wanted my phone number removed from their list. She took my phone number and said she'd give it to her manager that night. They called me twice this evening within two hours while I was out; hopefully this nips it in the bud. Great service from 800notes!
Seems to be a marketing automated call, and most likely an auto dialer set up for telemarketing sales or research. What ever, it is it is a nusance. I suspect many of the reverse directory services use this tactic to get new customers for their services...with the whose calling me, I am on a no calling list mentality discepline and there you go on to google, yahoo, dog-pile name it they all want money$$$$ $1.90 for a 3 day usage fee etc. They are responsible for placing these calls to get new suscribers to the service and search, services they wish you to think they provide...I get several calls a week from various unknown numbers that I do not answer, but every time I try to google, yahoo, or use any other search enging on line, as expected, I am asked for a credit card number, and a minimum of at least $1.90 on up^^^.
Just got a call from this number. Didn't give the machine a chance to pick up. If I don't know the number, I don't answer it... if they want me bad enough, they'll learn to leave a message and maybe I'll talk to them!
This number called and asked for some other person, which I explained to them that person doesn't exist at this number, then they go on to say can I speak to the person who handles the bills and I told her we do not except these calls; we are on the No Calls list and you call back again I will make sure you and your company is held responsible for a hefty fine of $1000.00. Cincinatti Ohio is where the call came from.
