Called here asking for shipping. We receive a high volume of calls regarding freight and people wanting to become carriers. Due to the high volume, I was instructed to tell these folks that we are only taking on new carriers when the contract is up. I don't like to them, but they keep calling back anyway even though I've told them to call back in 8 months when they will be looking to add new carriers. Had one guy tell me that he needed to talk to the guy in charge before they would stop calling because only the guy in charge could tell them to stop. I told him that wasn't true. That if I thought he was being annoying, I could ask him to stop calling. So he starts going off on how our company makes X amount of dollars and that it was too much of a lucrative business to walk away from so some people would put in their computer to call more often because of what I said. So I told him that I have an in house lawyer who would be happy to take that on if they wanted to start harassing us in that manner. The calls keep coming. I finally tell them to stop calling here. The next time someone calls I tell him what the other guy said to me and that I had asked them to remove us. He says he's sorry. That he will put it in his computer and make a "freeze" on the account so the account stays with him for 90 days. That way no one will call for a while. He lied.... I've had at least two phone calls from these douches since then. At this point I am no longer answering the phone when I see their number pop up and have logged the system so everyone can see the same message when they call. Sorry, but these folks just don't know when to quit. I will be filing with the FTC.
Dang, that's rude Must've gotten some new guys in because the guy that just called me (same thing, asked for our shipping manager and then when he wasn't available a former employee) but he was pretty nice about it and said he'd just call back next week. He was pretty polite, jokester, southern accent.. *swoon*. Lol. Sounds like they've brought in some new sales guys.
I'm not afraid to use my real name because everything I say and report here is from experience with this harassing company. Today Darren Burr from Total Quality Logistics called. His cell phone is 910-386-8226 and the company number which has thousands of complaints is 513-831-2600. This is a High Pressure/Low Expertise LTL and FTL coordinating company. TQL is the equivalent of the ASK toolbar. It does absolutely nothing other than spit back information your can get with even the simplest of web searches, but it does it very intrusively and unprofessionally. TQL is attempting to be the LinkedIn of all things Logistics (arranging for transportation of anything in trucks, railcars, etc) but unfortunately they rely on the thousands of cold callers who repeatedly call the same numbers in their databanks OVER AND OVER even after being asked to stop. They don't spend the time or energy on their website making it a useful tool for those that might actually NEED LTL and FTL assistance. They do it intrusively by phone. Who on earth has time to sit on the phone these days and be sold a bill of goods by someone you've never met, who has amediocre reputation at best and who won't take "no" for an answer? Who? The service they offer is higher priced than you can find by doing ANY websearch. The schedule of the service they offer WILL SELDOM coincide with your needs in realaity, but they will tell you they will push to get the truck there sooner or on schedule. They have absolutely NO CONTROL over any truck you coordinate with them...they are just the jobber. They are trying to be the Angie's List of Truck Services, but you'd do better ion Angie's List. TQL is closer to the CRAIGSLIST of Truck Services - Guaranteed you'll never know what you are getting into! As Craigslist cautions..."Proceed with any transaction with great caution!!!" Do the same with TQL. They basically just line up another load for any old truck driver who is in no big hurry to get your freight anywhere, because he is being paid the same rate regardless. TQL has zero trucking experience, but they have the desire to sell trucking to those in need, promising the needs will be filled, but falling way short. If TQL had half a brain (and I mean this sincerely) they would search out people like me to put their business on track
Called location asking for shipping/receiving manager. This company is ridiculous. Have talked to them multiple times and did relay their message to that department. Unfortunately, they continue to call and are very rude and unprofessional when told their call can't be transferred. They will lie repeatedly to try and get through to the shipping/receiving company.
Just give them a call back and say, "listen, I'm not affiliated with anything that has to do with trucking." The guy I just got off the phone with was crazy polite, bet you can find someone to talk to that can help you get this stopped.
They may be well known but I seriously doubt they are "well respected". They do call & hang ups on a daily basis and I'm sick and tired of them calling. I've called them and asked to be removed from their list...nothing. They still call. If they are mis-dialing, they are doing it daily and how stupid can they be. Get real. Do you work there or something????
The last sentence was an unnecessary insult. The person you are insulting likely knows far more than you do on other subjects. Does that make you less than smart?
