We just got a new landline installed on Nov 15/10 and on Nov 17 th these idiots number appears on my call display before we had given our number out to anyone! What gives, are they psychic?!?!
Called me today (Easter Sunday!) and said they were gathering information about hospitals in my area. I hung up before they could ask too many questions.
This sounds like a standard routing call, meaning when a call comes into the country and is in the country but does not give out their real number, the phone company displays this number. This means the number is not a real number but a display number from multiply sources. So you are all right. You know this number is not just one company it can be anyone from that region or routed through that region.
