I get angry because I am on the National Do Not Call list and I get at least 6 calls a day from those claiming that they are conducting a survey, they are the company that supplies pens and other promo material to me (never ordered and they are calling my cell phone), etc. Last night it was a scammer who tried to claim that they were from Microsoft tech support and needed to access my computer. Just because FMR doesn't sell anything what gives them the right to invade my privacy. I didn't ask to be called. I have repeatedly told them to not call me. Now that I know who and where they are I will threaten them with bodily harm if they call me again.
I received a few calls from this # which I ignored. Then they called me mid-afternoon on a Sunday and I got mad. I called them stupid SoB's, how dare you disturb people on a Sunday afternoon with this [***]!... Eff you! The calls stopped. So don't be nice. Let them have it.
Yes this number called me, but from past experience, if I do not recognize the number I simply no longer pick up the phone. Many of the telemarketers are also using hijacked personal numbers which will look like a person you don't know is calling you, they also use "private call" with no number given.I simply refuse to pick up any longer. If it is someone I know they will always leave a message, unless i actually recognize the number , I don't bother answering.
It's not a calling list. When I worked for survey company for 4 hours once it was a random computer generated phone number calling system. I would hit a button and it would call someone randomly but recorded the call generated in a list so it doesn't even matter if your on a do not call list. They just make new lists on the fly . They then sell those lists to other companies.
Sorry, but the DNC list simply states do not call. Political and fund raising are the ONLY two exemptions from this. It is not telemarketing per se' but nuisance calling that is prohibitive.
520-290-3741 listed on caller ID as "Private Number". Lady started pitch for "radio listening survey", I told her to take me off of her list, she replied "Thank you for your time". Yeah, my WASTED time. Thing is, her call was preceeded by about 15 seconds by another call that my phone automatically blocked from 800-786-9330 listed only as "Toll Free Number". Evidently, since she couldn't get thru using that number, she called back from the 290-3741 number. What a lame game. ...and yes, I'm on the "Donut" Call List.
Sometimes They Even wanted us to pick specific area codes to target at that telemarketing company and the random numbers hit different areas at different times. It was $6.00 an hour job when $5.75 was the wage at the time. They paid for traning but if you didn't make your numbers you would get canned. I said screw this after 4 hours. I just wanted to smoke cigs anytime I wanted like when I delievey drive.
