They hang up on you when you ask them to remove your name and number and stop calling. This type of call should be outlawed--oh, wait, it is.
Received a call from Jamie with FMR Assoc. I told her we are on the no call list. I told her she was not a charity. She said they are taking a survey about child care. I told her again that is not a charity and to take this phone number off their calling list. I told her I was going to report her and then I hung up.
520-290-3741 - tuson Az - I am getting so many scam calls and telemarketing and nroc - tired of it - I have a private unlisted number - the volume blew up every since NROC cdc started calling - assume they are selling ph lists fro money
You sound like a shill, pal.Answering the phone lets the marketing firm know your number is live. Regardless of what you tell them - and how they reply to you- they can now sell your number along with other live numbers they collect to other Marketing Firms who don't respect people's privacy and State and Federal Do Not Call lists.
One small problem with Call Rejection-First it has to be bought as part of a package. Second-and perhaps most important- telemarketers do NOT always call with the same number. Often they call with throw-away phones. Sometimes the number on caller ID only says "Florida" or "Utah" or some other state. I had one company call me and EVERY TIME they used a different number-same recording-different number. Also, I think one has to be home and possibly on line to reject the call. This does not stop calls from telemarketers who leave messages on answering machines or calls one does not answer.
Even doctors and clinicians are on the survey band wagon now. I never got so many survey calls as when I started visiting the Franciscan Health Services here in Western Washington state. Also, the Washington Health Exchange advised me that some survey company would be calling also. I don't answer any unknown numbers, so I don't know for sure that they actually were doing surveys. As for the Washington Health Exchange , I definitely have nothing good to say anyway about them, but that's another story....I'm guessing that there are as many (legitimate) surveyors calling my number as there are scammers calling my number.
