Ok, i got a call from these people also. however, FYI, i have someone i know that works for a phone company and they told me that some of these solicitors have "outgoing call only" lines on which they place these annoying calls. therefore, when you try to call back, you will get the out of service message. all i can say is to try to ignore these calls or else maybe contact your state attorney general and file a complaint.
Claimed that the auto warranty was expired. Which is funny, given that I don't have a car...they almost had me!I called back, and they're not "disconnected": it's clearly a really bad recording (over the phone) of the true disconnection message that plays when a number is actually disconnected. I emailed my phone company about it -- they should be able to trace the source of this better, or at least know how to get the source traced legally.
The following levels the playing field a bit:As stated earlier, the company behind these calls is IXE Accelerated Financial Services, and they have a toll-free number: 1-888-226-5185.Call this number from a public (i.e., PAY) phone booth to voice your concerns multiple times. They have to pay significantly (over $0.50 per call) each time they pick up because they have to reimburse the pay phone company on top of their regular phone bills! This gets their attention. Ask them to remove your number. It's gratifying to know that they have to pay more than $0.50 to hear your concerns, and that you can make them pay more if they continue to harass you.
Recording started indicating my auto warranty has expired. About 5 years too late, Not a call for me, so I hung up
Got a call from this number regarding auto warranties. I don't have any cars under warranty so this is just junk. I'm glad I didn't try to wait for someone to tell them to stop calling given what I've read here.
I got a call from this # just now saying that they were working to lower interest rates for my credit card. No name of the card or anything. When the guy got on the line, I asked what credit card this was for (I have a few). He said they were working with all the credit card companies to lower interest rates. When I said "no thanks," he hung up on me.Please don't believe any place that won't give their company name. I have a feeling that they were only wanting information.
