Believe it or not this phone number came up on my caller ID as "phone scam". So, when they said press 9, I did and immediately asked to be removed from their calling list. The person on the other end said... oh... wait a minute... and I'll do that for you. It sounded like I was put on hold but I was actually hung up on.

Just got a call from this number, love the id "Phone Scam". Also own a very loud whistle, try to get nasty on the phone, I'll give you a permanent head ache! Do-not-call lists seem not to work very well!

Please unite with me and complain about these scammers. We all know it's that rude Indian guy. Don't ignore it. COMPLAIN TO THE FCC. thanks.

I got the same message, from PHONE SCAM, 567-248-4400, just 6 minutes ago. Of course I'm not going to pick that up!!--super-glad you didn't either. Do these idiots think we have the word "STUPID" written on our foreheads??Wish there was a way to block them, but ATT only lets you block residential numbers; and even though I'm on the Do Not Call List, they're still "LEGALLY" able to do this since they put their name & # on my caller ID. I'm Sick To Death of This harassment!!

Because they made the call, if they hang up, they clear the line for themselves. If you were to call them and left the phone off the hook, then they are unable to disconnect. But I wouldn't recommend it. A lot of the calls where there's nothing on the other end --- or some weird noise, is because they are pinging your line... once your line is open, they can make calls elsewhere. Vonage blocks calls if there is no caller ID. Rings once, then shows "name unavailable" or something to that effect. And it automatically keeps a full log of all incoming / outgoing calls whether you've answered or not. The "DO NOT CALL" list does not cover these types of calls or political, survey takerss, charitable requests. DNC is only to stop telemarketers from selling. If a collection agency is continually calling, you can ask them to stop and they have to - if they don't, you are able to report them. But I would find out who they are collecting for and contact those folks using the case # the "collection agency" has -- They'll give you the company (hospital, doctor, store) you owe to if they're legit.OK - my fingers are tired of typing :)

Annoying calls from a company offering to lower credit card interest rates. I have repeatedly told them I have no cards and to delete my number ... but the automated machine just keeps called. When I have held on to wait for a live operated and explained that I do not have credit cards I have been hung up on. Awful ... really bad .... horrible ... no excuse for this behavior. What people will do for money!!! This number 567-248-4400 is an "Ohio Telecom, Inc." number. As a retired paralegal I have the time to check it out, follow through and contact whomever can put an end to the way they conduct business.

Same nonsense about lowering rates as others have experienced. Caller ID listed as "Attica, OH." The address would be the correct place for these crooks if only they were in a different state.
