I redialed this number, and the message was, "The number you have dialed is not a working number." SO, WHY IS IT ABLE TO DIAL MY PHONE???

It's a scam call. Regardless of the DNC registry, if you ask to be taken off the list they HAVE to comply. Even surveys have to be from legitimate companies and have valid caller ID's. The caller MUST identify themselves as why they are conducting the call.The caller seems to be a criminal looking for live phones.

Works even better if you forward those calls on your scammer list to the fake charities hotline number for clothing pickups, they actually resell your donations in thrift stores at 100% profit. The only thing they "donate" is the stuff they can't resell. That way they don't have to pay to throw those things away.This is stealing from legitimate charities and harming the needy.

this number just called my land line.hung up on answering machine, caller id said Vienna VA...i do not answer numbers i do not know.

Troll someplace else. This is a serious site for people trying to keep track of telemarketers and phone scam artists. Not a place for nut-cases to spew out their wacko social commentary.

They hung up when the answering machine came on. Did not leave a message.

Unfortunately, if this is a political survey, they are likely taking advantage of a loophole the politicians put into the Do-Not-Call registry legislation. It's my understanding that the law doesn't cover political groups or charities. Obviously politicians did not want to limit their own (or their supporters) fund raising and other activities that violate your privacy.
