William, or DJ Marcelus, whatever your name is. Please stop posting this useless information. Do Not Call registry does not work for this number since it is not an American Telemarketer. Calling the FCC also does not help since the number originates from outside the United States. I was getting the same calls from a similar number and the only way to stop it was to call my cell phone company and request a block of the number. It looks like I will have to do it again since this new number is now calling.
They call and when I pick up, say "Hello" ....here is a long silence.This is my cellphone so anybody calling me better talk fast.I hang up in a second. They call back. I don't answer. If this is a business call...why are they silent?
These calls are coming in from out of the country...584 is an area code off shore. These are thieves with a website offering information about student grants and scholarships and for the information they offer, you have to fill out a page of information...including your phone number. When you get to the end of the info forms, it is clear that the want money up front..most people delete the site at this point but they will call you back right away...and continue calling. I am a professor and checked on that website after my students were talking about it. We have to be very cautious about giving out our personal information when we don't really know who we are talking to. I called my cellphone provider and they can do nothing from their end. I am also on all the "do not call lists' there are...and these guys get around all of them.
