Just recieved a call and didn't have time to pick up, called from work phone and got a busy signal
This number has been phoning me non-stop for the last 45 minutes. Finally picked up and pushed 9 to stop receiving calls from them - didn't work - calls became more frequent. Currently on hold with my cell phone provider to block this number completely!!
Didn't answer as very few have my cell #. Thanks posters for stating this is the 'won a free cruise' scammers again. These calls (fake 30-second surveys; reduce credit card interest rates; won a prize come claim it; free cruise; fake Microsoft security) are ALL organized crime scammers - please see the RCMP Top Scams website. They use a robo-dialer over an Internet VoIP connection, to dial number after number in sequence. From postings, it seems they've organized to a point by time zone. They do not KNOW you or your number - any 'live answer' or response means you are a potential 'mark' to them; they track all valid numbers and you get more calls. Ideally, just hang up! Do NOT press any buttons or try to call back - it just validates your number. When they seem to have your name - they don't; they want you to verify your personal data like name, address, phone, and any income or employment or banking data; or get into your computer to plant Trojans/viruses/keyloggers, etc. They use this data to create FAKE IDs in YOUR name, and perpetuate more fraud. The Do Not Call Registries DO work - for legitimate companies; these people are crooks, they don't CARE. This site has, and public complaints to elected officials, helped get the FCC to change its laws so they could shut down 'Rachel, Credit Card Services' fraudster. Be part of the solution - write your elected official telling them to support antifraud unit in getting these b.....ds shut down. It takes time, evidence and intergovernmental cooperation. (If only people were so passionate on other issues - but if you share with your elected official, they WILL take the hint if enough people call. I emailed my Federal MP with every call I got over a month s they could 'share the pain'; and got a response from the Telecommunications regulator.) They are working to solve this, if you help support them.
They are calling me every minute, and I have selected to be removed from their list twice now but that's done nothing.
I have received 79 calls from this number in the last two hours!! I answered two of the calls, and it is a free cruise giveaway if you complete a survey, and both times I requested that they remove my number from their calling list by pressing nine. Both times I heard the recording tell me I had been removed from their list. This is insane! Does anyone know how to block a number or report this?
