I have been receiving calls from 605-496-0704 for the last 2 weeks. Reading this site shows that people have been complaining about this at least since Feb. 2012!!! Are there any authorities in this country that can protect consumers from these annoying practices?!

Do not call number does not work for debt collector

Have been calling me for a couple of months now. Several times per day - day and night. Never leave a message. I have a policy of not answering if I don't know who it is - I wait for the message, then call back. Really getting tired of the annoying calls and wish there was a way to block the number on my phone.

They call us several times a day. Beginning at 8am. I told them the person they need to speak to isn't home until 5pm and they continue to call. I told them not to call back before 9am because my baby is sleeping and unless they want to hear him screaming they better not call back that early. I think next time they call and ask for the person I'm going to say I'm looking for them too, have you seen them.lol wonder what kind of response I will get

This latest company just started calling identifying themselves as a debt collector. They are trying to collect a debt from AT&T. I over paid my bill by $35 one month and ATT sent me a refund check for the same amount. The same thing happened the following month. They again sent me a check to refund me the over payment of $35 saying sometimes it takes a cycle or two for the billing to correct it's self. I moved, canceled my account with them & didn't hear a thing from them for almost a year until I got a collection notice in the mail for $70 for AT&T non payment. I called AT&T and was assured they would take care of the mistake. The collection attempts stopped for awhile and then started again. Again I called AT&T again with refund check numbers in hand, dates etc... they agreed this was an error and passed me around to multiple people. Then just as I was to speak to someone who was the correct person to talk with regarding this, they said, and I quote" you can take care of this today by paying the $70 you owe." I went through the whole thing again and finally hung up in frustration. This started in 2010. It is now 2013 and this new agency apparently has bought the claim. Does anyone know what I can do to get these people to stop once and for all trying to collect a debt that I do not owe and have never owed?

This number is from I Q Data International Inc. They have been calling me and my husband for over a month multiple times a day. The few times I answer, there is no one there. When my husband answers someone usually answers and they only argue with him. He asks them to validate the debt (which they legally have to do if you ask) and they say that's "not how the law works, I'm sorry you're misinformed of your rights." We have looked into it and the only way to get through it now is to send letters and play a waiting game. They are extremely rude and unprofessional using threats and telling us to shut up when they want to talk. I would love to know how they still exist as a company being as shady as they are. I'm almost positive they won't validate debt because they do not have the proof they need so they will have to write it off unless they can scare people into giving them 4 times the amount.

DO not call list is a f*cking joke. I've got my cell # listed. HAD it listed for years and robocalls and telemarketers still call. ANother gov't joke just like 0bamacare will be.

You are so right in your note about these calls. But more important, is your comment about "ObamaCare" ! It will totally wreck our health care system. But even more important is how this "excuse of a president" is taking down our country in every which way imaginable. Our society better wake up or we will not even recognize this country in a couple of years. He is not even qualified to run an "Amway" business. WAKE UP, PEOPLE! ! !
