We have just discovered a 49.96 charge September 4, and then another one tonight, 9/10/08 for 19.90. The strange thing is that the phone number to this company was printed right on our statement so we could call about it. We don't hardly ever use our credit card nevermind using it online. We were out at dinner when tonight's charge was made. I think it is strange that whoever is using our cc number isn't smart enough to make this a duplicate amount. I would have been far less likely to have noticed an even amount charge.

They have a number of Websites. If you take a trial membership they upgrade you to their premium membership and turn on automatic billing.I called to cancel and was asked for my user ID and password. You NEVER give out such information over the phone yet without it they refused to process the call. I gave them enough of the password that they could tell I knew it. They still refused.I advised them that if they would not talk to me or give me a supervisor that I would contact the Attorney General. I also advised them that there are many sites such as this one that are reporting this kind of problem.The lady finally asked for my credit card number and address and name. If she had asked for the expiration date there was really going to be a fight. Mercifully she said she would credit back the last payment and cancel the membership.So, the company forces an "opt out" for auto renewal without advising the customer and they upgrade the account to a higher priced plan. Hopefully this is all over. The site was frequently not accessible and when it was it was s-l-o-w as molasses. i spoke to mike at friend finder, said it was an account setup back in april with adult friend finder, not by me tho', i live in NYC, dont need some moronic website to meet people.He said he will cancel the rebill on the account, so we will see in 30 days.so im out 120 bucks.only thing i can say is call and have the re-bill cancelled, mike was nice as you would expect.KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR MONTHLY STATEMENTS!!!

The company, or individual, that is doing this is fraudulently charging credit cards and disguising themselves as Friendfinder. They have an application that will try sending a $0.00 credit to a credit card number to verify that it is active. Then they turn it around and charge the credit card a random amount so that it goes unnoticed. This is how the credit appeared against my account: "26.99us Dollar +fnfee $.53" and this is how the charge appears: "Friendfinder 610-7571929 Kn" for $27.52. I have notified my bank of the fraud so they they can take the necessary legal action. Since they are putting Friendfinder's reputation at risk I let them know as well. Hang in there everybody. Hopefully we get enough people and information up here so that those responsible get to spend Christmas behind bars where they can enjoy three meals a day and a Saturday movie.

I had the same thing happen for two months at $19.95 per month. It was because I previously opened a Friend Finder acct. and thought it was cancelled, but it was not. \I called the number and they canceled the acct.

Today I checked my credit card balance and it said:Merchant Name FRIENDFINDER (610)757-1929KNMerchant Phone Number Not AvailablePost Date Dec 2, 2009Transaction Amount $27.26 I have never heard of this service at all, but what tipped me off was that my main statement said:Dec 2, 2009 Dec 2, 2009 FRIENDFINDERINCLUDES FOREIGN TRAN CHG $0.27 ($27.26)Which means if they added that .27 then mine also was for $26.99 usd just as mentioned in your post.I have reported this to my credit card company as well, and will be trying to get the money back.
