Well they just started calling and have called 3 times in the past 7 minutes. I assume because i recently ordered from amazon.com. Should I bother answering to see if that is the last four of the card I used so I know which card company to call? Thanks for the advice.
I know this is a scam and I would like for them to stop calling me. I asked the man that called politely and he got an attitude with me.
I receive calls from a 613-333-3456 number who try to give me a $100.00 gift card. It is not a valid promotion. They give me the last 4 digits of some Visa card. I have repeatedly told them I am not interested and they continue to call! Very frustrating. I block the number and they call from another number
These people (the very same ones mention in some of these other comments with heavy Indian accents) apparently live in Canada where EVERYONE must sound Indian because I've been getting calls from them for what seems like two straight months at any given time and they all sound the same. If I could punch them in face I'm pretty sure I would. In addition to Canadians in Ontario sounding VERY Indian/middle eastern apparently their accent can be easily confused with people in New York, USA because they sound like the exact same jerks they won't leave me alone. I've said no just about every time. Sometimes I pick up at 7 in the morning just to find out no one's on the other line.On top of that, these trustworthy folk must have discovered a new plane of existence because my phone also several times after they relocated from Canada to New York they warped to a place called "Unknown".I've told the same lady to not call me anymore and the guy too, and the lady JUST told me "if I don't finish the process the phone calls won't stop."Yep, totally sounds like I won a 100 dollar Visa giftcard by shopping at Best Buy, Walmart, Target and several other competing stores.Long story short, as it still isn't finished, these people are jerks..jerk scammers to be exact. A certain Jerry Seinfeld telemarketer joke comes to mind when I run into this situation. I only wish it were as easy as making them feel the way we do by calling THEM all hours of the day.
I too got the call I was to get a walmart gift card. they had my home address and spelling of my name correct. Also had the last 4 digits of my visa card. But what they did not know was three days ago my card was compromised and visa had close that card number. I asked how they got my info ? they said from a walmart survey I took online. Plus they kept asking I verify the address and say yes to each question they asked.
I have gotten several of these calls, this one most recently, I have called my bank and had my card canceled and a new one order and being sent to my bank for me to pick up there. These people have my card number, cell number and home address. Its a scam and they are getting this infomation when you use your card at Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot and Best Buy. They are also calling from: 347-342-4904, be aware and don't fall for this scam. Scum like this should have to work for their money instead of stealing from those of us who are honest and don't steal from others.
Kept getting calls from 613-333-3456. Female with thick Indian accent had the last 4 digits of my credit card and said they wanted to give me a $100 gift card for using my credit card. I stopped her mid-sentence and told her that was my Father and he had died in a car accident the night before. Haven't had a call from them since. A friend who also was getting calls from them started answering the phone, FBI, how can I direct your call. So far he hasn't received any more calls either.
