I kept on getting annoying phone calls from this number that I don't regonize. How annoying?
Google Voice is your friend. Get a free Google Voice number and use that number as your one and only phone number. When jack-hole phone-spammers call you, they will only ever get through ONCE. Google Voice gives YOU the power to block any caller permanently. Done & done.
