Asurion is the caller. They perform functions for Verizon such as help with accounts, insurance/replacement phones, etc...

When you buy a cell phone from Sprint, Verizon etc. when they ask you do you want insurance on your product in the event your phone gets damaged or stolen. Assurion is the company that replaces your phone. At times those phones are refurbished ones.

SCAM - they have no business calling. Send mail if they want to protect. At least you can file it in FILE 13!!

I have Verizon, and have insurance on my phone and rec'd a call from this same number. I was into the local Verizon store about my piece of junk; but I do not appreciate phone calls from UNKNOWN numbers. They can send me a first class letter or whatever and don't call me. I don't have time with sister in hospital to deal with idiots!!!

I rec'd phone call from same number. Didn't answer as I didn't hear the phone ring. It's on my reject call list. I do NOT appreciate phone calls from UNKNOWN numbers; and I was to Verizon about my piece of junk smartphone and didn't realize they were going to have them call me. Should've told me so I wouldn't panic.

The phone number is a consumer support for AT&T. I think your story is a little misleading and made up. Nice try though. I just got off the phone with them, after I was transfer to the number from my AT&T retail store.
