Got a call on my work phone from some guy with a thick accent claiming he was from Buffalo, NY and that I'd won some contest. I told him I'm in FL, not NY so I didn't enter any contest there and it sounds like a scam. Then he claimed I entered a contest at a Walmart in FL and it's not a scam. I told him I don't shop at Walmart, and that he's calling my work phone. He tried to argue saying that I did enter a contest and gave that number. I told him never to call me again.
WARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are B I G credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! under NO circumstances, give your credit card number to these lowlifes, or you will regret it forever!
Got a call from "Jim" of "Royal Vacations" on my cell phone. Which is on the DNC lists for both state and federal. Asked for his telemarketer certification # (which you need to call anyone in my state for telemarketing purposes). He laughed at me and told me he didn't have one. At least I think he did. The accent was from India and terribly thick. Clearly a scammer. But it makes me so glad we have laws that aren't enforced, and loopholes big enough to slam an entire country through...HOORAY FOR US!
Answered this phone call. No response from caller. Acknowledged 3 times. Still no response from caller. The call terminated with caller hanging up subsequently terminating phone call downtime interruption.The incoming phone number is registered with origination in Cambridge, MA.
Claimed he was Officer Brown and if he didn't hear from me or my attorneyI would be in serious trouble.
i answer then get no response i hang up and dial number back only to find out a questionable "this number is not in service" if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck its a ducky scam eh!
Recorded message says I won a free trip to the Bahamas. Woohoo! Spam or scam or something. Either way I blocked the caller.
I don't know anyone in Cambridge Ma so i didn't answer. After reading the other posts, I really glad I didn't. Thanks to all of you that took the time to post on these low life scum/scammers/thieves/hacks!.
Left a robotic voicemail message stating they were from the IRS and suing me. Complete scam.
