Call every freaking day if I don't pick up they call two or three times in a day....if I do pick up they just hang up...also they don't leave messages on the answering machine. I as well am on the Do Not Call List.
They've been calling multiple times daily for weeks. After looking up the number, I started answering to try and get a person or at least an opt-out number/recording. Took four tries to get anything but silence, but finally got a person today. She asked for a "Benjamin" who is NOT the person this number belongs to or is listed for. We occasionally get his calls, though. So they got the number from a list somewhere if they knew who to ask for. I told the girl to remove our number from their list and not to call anymore, but she said they couldn't do that because the numbers are randomly generated by computers. That's a lie since they were calling for a specific person who hasn't had this number for at least 9 years. I know the Do Not Call list can't enforce this since they claim to be a research company, but this pisses me off greatly. They're still engaging in telephone harassment by calling here several times a day every day. I expect to hear more from them based on what the girl I spoke to said.
Got a number of calls from Kantar OPS and googled the name/number. It looks to be a market research company. There are a number of limited callers that are not limited by the DO NOT CALL LIST, based on 1st ammendment rights or business need. They include churches, poloticians, and market research companys. The business need for market research companies is related to the way "statisically ramdom samples" are generated to make a survey acurate and true. No message is left for two reasons. First they are required to announce who they are and ask for your time (an accurate estimation of survey time)for the surey. Second, call backs screw up the statistically random sample. That is, self election to participate in a survey is an inaccurate messure of randomness. That is why online polls at a website are not statistically accurate.
KANTAR OPS. Don't know who they are or what they want, and I don't care. Hope these [***] never call again. Especially at 9:25pm when my Dad is already asleep. They SUCK.
I visited Kantar Operations' website, and it sounds like they do market research. They actually have a page on Ethics, and how they follow all ethical codes of the marketing research industry (is that an oxymoron, or what?). Also sounds like they are headquartered in the UK, and do business in the US. Not very effective, if you ask me, because their calls seem to [***] so many people. I'm going to contact my congresspeople.
go out and purchase a canned air horn. Whenever you get these calls, answer and wait for someone to say hello then blast the horn into the phone. Do it every time they call. They'll stop soon enough. :o)
