Yeah right press 1 to have your number removed... then why do we still receive calls after removal request??? and I would like to add if we do nothing to stop this it will only get worse. I understand people need jobs, but I also understand people have a choice in what profession to pursue. I wouldn't even consider working as a telemarketer as I have morals.

I have an unlisted phone number and do not usually answer any calls where I don't recognize the phone number. This number had appeared on my caller ID several times, each time leaving no message. However, last evening (8/7/08) at 6:35 P.M. my phone rang - the caller ID showed Kantar OPS, this time, I decided to answer ... I asked the caller "not to call me anymore" and that I'm registered on the National Do Not Call List. He told me that his company was exempt - I told him to take notes on what I'm about to say, "DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER ANYMORE". He started yelling back and I hung up. Within, 2 minutes, at 6:37 P.M. my phone rang, again, with Caller ID, UNKNOWN CALLER. I did not answer and no one left a message. Then at 8:22 P.M. I received another call - Caller ID, UNKNOWN CALLER - by this time, I'd had enough ... there was a lady calling saying she was taking some kind of survey. I told her that I'd received several calls from her company and did not wish to be called again!! She apologized and said she would remove my name from their list. I'm in the business of Real Estate and at times have made "cold calls", however, the first thing I did before dailing a number was to check to see if its on the Do Not Call List - it's also a matter of courtsey and respect. What's the use of having your number listed on the Do Not Call List, if companies such as Kantar OPS can get around any loop holes and still make these annoying calls. I'd like to know what can be done?? Thanks, for your time.

I'm with you!! Imagine that ... you're on the Do Not Call List to prevent annoying calls. But, you get these calls anyway and the person calling on YOUR PHONE ...is RUDE. I'd like to nail them!!!

Yes, this is illegal if you are on the Federal "Do Not Call" list. Telemarketers are required to scrub their lists of numbers on this list, even if they use "random dialers". There may be a few exceptions for very small operations, charity, political candidates and such, but no large telemarketer can call you if you are on the "Do Not Call" list unless you are a current customer or a customer in collection.Each call is subject to that $1,000 FCC fine.

they continue to call my home after I requested the calls to stop. the calls have continued for a while and when I pick up sometimes there is noone there. I called the number back (long distance at my expense) to hae the number removed today so let's see where that gets me. I clearly advised, and I do mean clearly, the person on the other end to never call this number again.

I've been getting lots of calls from this number, with no message ever left.I called back the same number (on Sunday, June 8 at 12:30 pm) and heard a recording. At the end of the recording, you have the opportunity to be removed from their call list, by pressing "1." I did so and we shall see if the calls stop.
