Got the same calls, two of them. Very familiar tone used-- "Hello, Michael" makes it sound like I know him-- fooled my 14 year old, who then gave his name to the guy. Who ARE these people?

Me too. For several days on end, I have received the same telephone call. Today I answered. A woman asked for my husband and identified herself as a woman for someone that either one of us knows.

I got a call from this number but they hung up on me.I called back, I got a automatic voice saying...something about police conference of ny automatic answering system ...It's very fishy...be careful .. 631-840-1020

I've been getting these calls too. I started keeping a list of these numbers which I use to put up a fake ad on Craigs List, usually in the "erotic services" section. If these scammers are gonna keep calling my house, then it's only fair I return the favor--see how much they like getting hundreds of calls from lonely men looking for an escort. If all of us did this, we can tie up their phone lines.

They have asked for my husband as well. After the 20th call, I called it back. It is the Police Conference of New York Fundraiser. If they are trying to raise money this way, their efforts will not succeed.

When I picked up the phone, a recording said, "Sorry, due to an unusually high call volume, we are unable to connect you right away." Well DUH!!!!! Then you shouldn't have rung my number!

I GET THEST CALLS ALL THE TIME. I NEVER PICK UP THE PHONE. CALL-ID TO THE RESCUE. SOMETIMES I GET UNSOLICITED UNKNOWN NUMBERS, SO I PICK UP AND DEPRESS THE "0" BUTTON, AS I HEAR THE TONE MESSES UP ANY AUTO-DIAL COMPUTERS. GO FOR IT!

This call came in at 11:24 AM on my buseniss phone Non. 14, 2008. When I picked up and Answer Photography, it sounds like they hang up the telephone. When I call back a few times, I got " Sorry your call can not go through please try again later.

have been getting numerous calls, all times of the day, from 631-840-1020 for at least 7 days. the caller does not leave message.
