I just got this call today but didn't answer it, when I tried 'redial' I got a message saying it was from a 'skype' account. NO ONE is on my account with that number.

i received a call from this number on sunday and the guy had a thick accent. said he was calling from sony and that i won something i entered for at a walmart or best buy...blah blah blah. i told him that i never entered for anything and he said it was back in september and i told him again that i didn't enter anything. while he was talking i decided to ask him what the name on the entry was and he said "there's no name just a box marked for an age" right then i knew it was a scam. i flat out told him nice try on trying to scam me and while he was saying no no no i hung up. when i called the number back it said i was trying to call a skype number.

You're right! I also got a call from 661-748-0240 (and 661-748-0241 when he called back) saying he was from Microsoft and someone was sending spam email from my Microsoft email account. Since I said I didn't do it and didn't give anyone my password he said my email account had been compromised and perhaps my network was not secure. He said if I didn't allow them to scan my computer to check it out and pay $700 for my 2 computers for a 3 yr warrantee that Microsoft would have to put a freeze on my email account. I hesitantly let them do it, paying with a credit card. They set it up through PayPal in two payments, $500 & $200 payable to abhi_kays@yahoo.com and would show up on my billing as ABHIKAYS, which it did. Anyway, I called Microsoft the next morning and they said they did NOT call me and DO NOT CALL people & that it was a scam. I called my credit card bank & told them about it but can't dispute it 'til it posts. I called these people from India back at the number they gave me 1-800-467-7520, & told them I called Microsoft & that they said they were not Microsoft and they had scammed me & that I had called my bank & was disputing the charges. He insisted they WERE Microsoft but for me to please call my bank back and not dispute and he would refund my money through PayPal. By the way he said his name is Sam Wallace, (with a strong Indian accent ??)

just received a call from "1-661-748-0240 SKYPE CALLER" I DID NOT ANSWER IT!

Some scammer has called me 30 times today, sometimes from 000-012-3456, sometimes from "restricted number" and now from this number. I have told this person to Ef Off and quit calling but they keep calling again and again.

anna heiderscheit is at it agian got phone calls today constantly from this # by her and the dumb thing is she hung up and kept hanging up and then would call back and when i anserwed she goes "this is anna heiderscheit your gonna get it hard make your life a living hell" all i gotta say is what the hell ? I live in another state.. I have no clue who the girl is but I found out the girl is from Olivia MN, and the mother was also involved in this matter. I really hope the cops nail these two its getting annoying with all these phone calls!

We got a call from this number at 5:30 this morning. Didn't get out of bed to answer it. Thanks to this site, I know that it is the same creep who calls us all the time from various numbers, trying to get me to pay a small fortune to "fix" my computers to get rid of "thousands of error messages." Just give me one minute in a room alone with one of these creeps.......

A male called claiming to be a grandson. When I told him that he was not my grandson he kept trying to convince me he was. After telling him three times that he was not my grandson he said, "Grandma, stay right there because I'm coming over to kill you." I figured it was a prank but I wanted to report it.

Install the free app Mr. Number on your cell phone. Once you receive one of these calls you can go to it and block the number yourself. I'm sure there are probably other apps that do this as well.

What do you mean by that? I have a fixed phone number from skype that I pay for and pay to call landlines and cell phones. You have to have a paid skype account to call landline phones and cell phones. It would not be a random number. It is only free calling skype to skype and there is no phone number involved there.
