I called my cell phone using Skype to check my messages and this was the number that showed up on my phone :661-748-0240.
I received 2 calls from this same number along with a voice mail. The voice mail was from a guy doing a webinar yesterday and he asked for a call back to a totally different number. I am now thinking this number is used as kind of "straw" number by various individuals. Needless to say, I will not consider doing business with anyone using this number.
I got a call from this number and didn't answer since it wasn't in my contact list. They left a message regarding the availability of product that I recently ordered. The call was legitimate. They left a different call back number in the voicemail, so this must just be a generic default.
My daughter received a call from 661-748-0240 on 1/18/14 inquiring about furniture for sale on Craigs List. It was being advertised for sale at the antique store where she works in Sanford, FL. He proceeded to ask her if the mattress on the bed smelled of dead corpses. He then told her he was going to F _ _ K her on that bed. A man showed up at closing time at the store and inquired about the bed. As she walked over to help him with it, he looked at her and gave her a smirk. She quickly ran to other customers and explained the problem and waited for the police to arrive. The man left the store. There was nothing the police could do. I guess they have to wait until my daughter is raped or killed. If there is any help you can provide, please help. This man is dangerous and could very well be a serial killer.
I have been receiving calls from this number for about 3 months now, at first he was an English man and was saying very vulgar things to me in a sexual way. Now, when he calls me he askes me if im a fat girl in mud. Ive told him many times to not contact my number again & I have told him I would going to report him a couple times.
Good news...I just received a call and the police are now involved and investigating. They are now taking this very seriously. Thank God!!
Same story as you happened 2 days in a row. Indian decent gentlemen saying they were from Microsoft needing into our computer system to fix it from infected viruses they detected through a warning system. Sorry dudes!! Not on my shift
I just recently upgraded my phone, and got a landline as part of the plan. I elected to NOT register my landline anywhere as a test of the infamous "PLEASE CALL ME!" list that our government uses as a fund raiser by selling it to anyone with money. The result? NO CALLS! Amazing! So, to recap: No listing of phone #=no BS calls. The government does indeed provide the "Do (Not) Call" list to anyone and everyone who asks. It wouldn't surprise me if the list is sold to make more money for government officials to spend. It's not relevant if the caller is in or out of country. I could call you selling Life Insurance and you could still be on "Do (Not) Call". No one is going to take anyone to court for violating this non-working list. There are no actual, legitimate, REAL penalties for violations. And don't say, "Oh, I looked on the "Do (Not) Call" website, and they say "blank" are the penalties, so I believe them!", because no one (and The Rock means NO ONE) is ever going to spend time prosecuting for this. You can lay out the death penalty for calling, but if no penalty is carried out, then it's just a(nother) empty threat. That's what the list is. A free list of fully functioning numbers that people answer. Most telemarketing companies spend MILLIONS for this kind of list. I worked for a company that spent money cold calling places to try to con small businesses to buy radio ad spots in local markets (leftover time spots) in the guise of public service announcements (as in, "Please care about this cause, because (local company) does"), but I can say I have NEVER heard a spot like that EVER on ANY radio station I've listened to. They don't guarantee certain times, since it's all just leftover ad time, so it probably airs at 0300 in the morning or something. The company buys all this leftover ad time, then they re-sell it all. It's all still cold calling in the end.
Received a call from 661-748-0240 this afternoon (1-19-15) . The gentleman had a heavy Indian-like accent who stated that he was calling from Microsoft. When I asked what his name was, he said that it was George Matthews which sounded like a very strange name for one with such a heavy accent. He told me that my e-mail address had been hacked and was being used to hack into bank accounts of others. He also stated that I could get in trouble with the government as the government had contacted Microsoft about my computer being hacked. He told me to hit the control key and r, which I did. A box opened in the lower left hand corner. He then gave me some numbers to enter into the box. I told him that I would have to check with my son and call him back before I could proceed any further. He told me I needed to do this right away or I would not be able to use my computer ever again and reminded about the government being involved. I hung up the called at this point. Sound like a scam to me!!
