I just got a same call just like you . I can not believe that I did not see this . I actually give them a remote control over my computer. Now I really been infected like whole my stuff I need to cancel it right now . I am feeling horrible that I even called police to report it. I thought I was a computer literature person . They made me really believed that they were from a microsoft help center that they are gonna help me I let them control over my computer now I am all shaky lol please do not belioeve this people like me .

The D team sounding like from India trying to sell some kind of tech scam.

Someone by the name of "max" kept calling me saying he just wanted go be my friend and then he asked me for my cell phone number. I said if you were truly my friend you would already have my cell phone number. I begged "max" to stop calling and he wouldn't stop, I finally called my local police department.

RECEIVED A SECOND CALL FROM THIS NUMBER IN 1 MONTH SAYS " PALMDALE " AREA ITS 661-748-0240

Got a call from this # telling me I'd violated my contract w Time Warner cable bc of a slanderous tweet I'd sent. (I had simply tweeted to the Time Warner help account explaining my problem and asking if they had suggestions). He said they'd cancel my service & charge me $500+ in fees if I didn't apologize. I said "well that sounds like inaccurate information..." He tried to get me to go to a website & then called me stupid at which point I hung up & called TWC to verify it wasn't them.No idea how they got my cell phone number. But these people are CRAZY.

I have had multiple calls from this number and DO NOT want to receive any more. I no longer answer it, and want whoever it is to stop harassing me. I put my number on the DO NOT CALL list, but I'm still getting calls.

I get the calls from 661-748-0240 and no one answers.

Received the Microsoft call others report in more detail in other posts. I'm a software engineer and don't use Microsoft products so I knew two sentences into the call that he was phishing. I strung him along for about 20 minutes before he realized the joke was on him. Lots of swearing once he realized he'd been had. I made fun of him for awhile before hanging up. He was so mad he called me back. I had tired of the fun at that point so I just blocked his number. Score one for the good guys :)
