Do NOT respond to any "company" who claims to need an update to senstive/personal/financial info. Reputable companies will never do this.
I got a call from this number also. I believe I pushed number 1 after it said to push that to reactivate my card. How do you know they might be able to steal long distance? Did that happen to you?
recording claimed my Bank of America debit card had been frozen. Don't have any thing with Bank of America
Report it to the FTC. Your report helps law enforcement officials across the country in their investigations. Visit ftc.gov/idtheft or call 1-877-ID-THEFT. FTC said to call 1-888-397-3742 to get on the National Do Not Call List.
I pressed 1 to reactivate my card to see what happened. It asked for my 16 digit card number so I pressed 1234561234561234 and a British man's voice repeated it back to me, told me if it was correct to press 1. So I pressed 1. It said "Your card number is not valid. Please reenter your card number. Carefully." so I pressed 6543216543216543 and the same thing happened. I hung up but was told it was a BoA company. They called my work cell which would in no way be tied to any of my cards so obvious scam!
I received a call from 701-509-8703 at 3:58 pm 7-12-2011 with the name of CARD SRVC on my ID. I am supposed to be on the DO-NOT-CALL LIST. A message was left on my voice mail by Rachael from Card Holder Services that went like this - "telling me there is no problem with my current credit card accounts but stating they could help lower my interest rates on my credit cards and to Press 9 now to speak to live operator and lower my interest rates". Note: Such messages should not be sent to anyone and/or a senior citizen plus how do they know if one has a credit card.
