same as everyone above but i also received a string of text messages from a "cameron smith" mentioning the same thing. i don't even have an hsbc account. again, it's more a nuisance than anything else but not everyone has an unlimited txt-ing plan and these messages add up... make sure you call your carrier to have those charges reversed.

I got a call from this # last night at 10:05 CST on my cell phone. I thought it was odd so I answered it. Like some people have already replied, it said they were sorry to report possible fraudulent activity on my Bank of America debit card and it had been locked - press 1 to contact the security dept. to reactivate it. I thought - hmmm... since I don't have a BOA debit card, I am going to see what happens when I press 1. It then asked me to put in my 16 digit debit card number. This is definitely a pfishing scam to steal card numbers. I then hung up and called the number back just to see who I would get. I got a recording that said "thank you for calling back. If you are no longer interested in receiving calls for our promotions, please press 1 to be put on the do not call list." How weird is that????

I also received an automated call from this number saying that my HSBC debit card was locked and that I should press 1 for the security department. I too don't have an HSBC card -- so I waited to hear whether the message would play again. It didn't, and the call ended by itself after 30 seconds.

Just called and caller ID said Minot ND 701-509-8703. Hung up as soon as I answered. Third such call today....all from different area codes and phone numbers.

Got a call from this number today, automated message told me my BoA debit card had been locked due to fraudulent activity and told me to enter my card number to reactivate. I called BoA and they said my card was fine and was never locked!

husband & I BOTH got this scam call yesterday on our CELL PHONES! Recorded message said fraud alert from Bank of America. When we called back, we could immediately tell scam call & hung up. Problem is these scammers are frequently calling from India or Pakistan & even AT & T can't tell the exact call origin. Yes, you can block the number BUT they constantly change the fake caller ID.Government- wake up & shut down these scammers!

Received a call from 701-509-8703 on my cell phone, got a recording asking if I was behind in my mortgage payments, and if so there are new federal programs to assist me or some such. Press "1" if you are behind and would like to speak to a representative.I got a rep who asked if I was behind on my mortgage payments, I responded that no, I do not have a mortgage, this number was a cell phone number, and I would like it removed from their list. They immediately hung up.It's probably a scam.
