Received a call to reduce my CC interest - I am on the Do Not Call list - have been for years - pressed 9 to tell them to quit calling - a man with heavy accent proceeded to tell me how they were going to reduce my rate and only needed a few pieces of personal information - I kept asking questions and then told him NO and do not call again - he said I had wasted his time - told him to have a nice day. LOL! Called today 2/12/2014 @ 11:55 am CST. Called the number back and a recording came that said this was a disconnected number was not a normal "the number you called is no longer in service" recording. That number has to be through some service provider - might not be able to track the called but they can certainly cut off the use of that phone number.

Just received a call from 703 272 4699 (Virginia) on the caller ID. Usually do not answer calls unless I know the number. Took a chance on this one. Oh boy………..there was an Indian man on the other end telling me there was a problem with my computer and he was from Microsoft. The drivers have not been working on my computer for the last few weeks and he was going to tell me how to fix them, for a fee, I am sure. I do not have Microsoft anything on my computer, so I am guessing it was a scam. My response to him was, I do not use Microsoft and thank you for the scam call. Isn't there anything to be done about these people. They are annoying, call came in at 9 pm, dangerous, too, for someone who does have Microsoft and would actually think something is wrong with their computer………...

I like to mess with these people, since they spend their entire day messing with us. Yes, they are scammers -- working from a boiler room in God-knows-where (probably overseas) but I do a variety of things, depending on my mood:"FBI Internet Investigations... this is Agent Smith. Are reporting a scam?" <--- This one is my favorite, lol.OR I just press '1' and wait for an operator. When they come on the line and ask me if I'm ready to lower my interest rate (or whatever their current offer is) I just say, "No, I just wanted to waste your time, since you're wasting mine. What's new? How's your Grandma?" or something like that. Of course they hang up, and that's usually the end of it.lol. I have fun with it, since there's no way to get it to stop.

Got a call from this number tonight. A guy with a distinct Indian accent told me he worked for Microsoft and my computer had some critical errors. Knowing this was a scam, I asked how he knew it was my computer. He told me there was a 32 character code. So I asked him to read it to me to confirm. He told me to go hit the windows key+r. I asked why, he said to get the code. I told him I had the code and I wanted h to read it to me. He got very agitated and began yelling at me. I laughed at him and hung up.

i received this call from 703 272 4699 - of course I live in michigan and do not know anyone who would call from out of my area code. I did not answer ..I get these calls here and there from various #"s - Never answer the calls though.

Someone with a heavy Indian accent called and told me that my computer was full of viruses and they were with Microsoft and would talk me thru fixing it. I started getting nasty with them in my va. Redneck voice when he started becoming evasive to my questions. He threatened to shut my system down so I got totally hillbilly red with them. So far hasn't called back.

Like one of the people responding above, I love messing with them too. So far on the Microsoft Service Center calls I told them on occasion that I had an Apple computer and they didn't know what to do and got all tongue tied and finally hung up. The next time I told them I was an analyst with the FBI Cyber Crimes Division and thanked him for staying on the line long enough so that we were able to trace the call back to India and the point of origin. Today when he insisted that my computer was infected I told him I had more than one computer and he needed to give me the IP address of the computer he was calling about...he hung up. Don't get mad, play with them and enjoy it. If nothing else it slows them down from messing with someone else.

The phone number shows up as "Siemens" so I answered the phone (could be a client). Clearly it is not, as they are calling about my computer. And that it is sending out "lots of error messages". They've called before, and I can hardly understand them. Clearly they are trying to find folks who are willing to follow the steps they are likely to provide and gain access to your computer.

They called stating that my computer warranty I had taken out two years ago expired. I questioned what computer and she said you know the one, and I said no I don't, which one....Silence.... At that point I hung up, I know for a fact I nor my wife took out any form of extra warranty on our computers.
