Looks like they use this number for lots of scams. For me it was the "reduce your electric bill by signing up for solar" scam. I asked the lady why I would fall for their scam and she got into an argument with me over why I thought it was a scam. I told her that pretty much when you are making illegal phone calls, it's a scam... And if you are still staying on the phone to argue with me, that's another sure sign that this is a sales pitch and you aren't really trying to do anything for me. Should have asked her what different message I'd get if I tried to call back the number on callerID if it wasn't a scam cause I'm sure it won't be for solar...

This Indian CSR at this call center is quite persistant.If you put him on hold for 3 minutes and 45 seconds he gets upset and still continues his sales spiel.How long will this place continue to harass people in the USA

I just got call from this number. Caller ID showed Siemens. Guy with thick Indian accent left me a number to return his call. Said it was a matter involving the US Treasury. That before an action is taken to call me up before a magistrate or Grand Jury, this is the last attempt to contact us. "Help us to help you". He then said. The number he left to call was different than caller ID.

yep, the callerid number gives what sounds like a phoney "is not in service" message

You are right: the ultimate goal is to scam money from you. But, it is even more insidious with this scam. If you give them your IP address, they will log into your computer remotely and take CONTROL of it and ALL your files. THEN they RANSOM your computer files back to you for THOUSANDS of dollars. Sometimes people pay, and STILL do not get their files back. In the meantime, they scan your files for personal/ID and banking info and can clean you out while you are trying to get control of your computer files back.VERY BAD SCAM. Do not answer, do not engage in any conversation with them. CRIMINALS.(The DNC list does not stop CRIMINALS from attempting to scam/steal from you, any more than anti-robbery or anti-rape laws prevent those crimes. They just make those crimes an actionable offense when/if they do occur.)

I just got a call and didn't answer. They left a message and it was a woman with an Indian accent telling me that they were coming after me for tax evasion. She said they had an affadavit and that when I call them back I need my lawyer.

This is a scam.
