wish these people would not call at 8.10 AM.Am also on the do not call list, but it does not seem to work anymore.On Iphone these calls can be blocked.

they just called our house (several times now) Caller ID now says Virginia. Next step is to report this to the Feds.

Seems to be a variety of tricks whoever this is is using, but one thing remains constant: they still win if they find out your number is live. AVOID EVEN ANSWERING WITH A MACHINE if possible! They get an answering machine, they've got a bite and your number will be sold to other scammers. Forget the DNC registry here, too. Not likely whoever this even knows about it and since their intent is bad, they certainly won't care. Best just to ignore all unknown numbers for safety.

I just got a call from a women with a very heavy Asian accent informing me that I received an $8000.00 grant from the Federal Gov. The grant was selected based on my phone number and my loyalty to the Federal Government. All I had to do was give them my bank account info or my credit card number and they would deposit the money in my account. I could also go to Western Union and they would transfer the money to me. Amazing how I received a grant and they did not even have my name. Total Scam here..... Clearly an internet call from someone out of the country.

Phone number 703-272-4699 called me 11 TIMES on a Saturday. 12:52, 12:58, 1:04, 4:03, 4:08, 4:24, 4:28, 4:37, 4:39, 4:43, 4:48. My number has been on the do not call list for years. I've had my phone number forever and took pride in that but I guess it's time to ditch the number. Reporting the calls to the do not call list don't help. About every other month for a series of about a week I start getting about 30 calls a day from various numbers. It doesn't make since. I shouldn't have to block all calls until the evening. I should be able to have an open phone line that I pay for. I want to answer the phone and curse out whoever this is but it won't matter and I would just end up getting upset.

A man called my cell phone at 11:15am. His number appears as (703)272-4699. He said he is calling from "the federal government", to let me know what I have been randomly selected to receive grant money. He repeatedly asked for my name, which I did not give. We spoke in circles for 11 minutes, him asking for my name, and me asking who he really works for. He often said that he got my phone number from "the federal government", but a few times he said he got it from my Facebook page (it's not on my facebook page). He also asked several times what my religion is, and if I have performed some kind of religious habit. He was persistant with my name, and said he enjoys speaking with me. He had a slight accent, but I don't recognize it. His English was fluent.

They called me at 5:30 AM this morning!!!!!!

This was a call from a computer generated voice. Identified itself as The IRS, very stern warning to take down their phone number and call them immediately, or else. Do not fail to call them, or else. Too bad I don't sleep with a pen and paper, because it was six a.m. Pretty certain it wasn't the IRS. If you get a call from this number, DONT CALL THEM BACK. It's going to be somebody pretending they're from the IRS, and telling you that you have to pay a fine or penalty. It's tax return season;I heard about this scam two weeks ago. Please warn your elderly folks who might be alarmed by this caller, and people who are gullible. It's a thief. It's a thief. It's a thief.
