Caller ID said Verify. Verify my foot. I do not and AOL or any other email that requires a call. Scammer Alert!!!

They said they were from clearinghouse and I won 5mil 850 k...said I need to go to a bank and pay for a stamp...$1500 to release the $$..so I said take it outa my winnings...they said they will give me the acct # and I can go take it out....I said ..OK...give me the acct #...then they hem and haw...so I said...stick the $$ where the son don't shine!

This was the number that called me with a verification code - i was changing my contact information on an old site and this was a valid call to verify I am the one making that change.

Unwanted calls Caller will not leave a full name, company name or any other information

so basically, this is a spoofed number that is also used for legit verifications. If the caller does not specify the exact company or application the verification code is for, and you did not recently request a code for an app or site, then chances are it is not legit.

Called. Did not answer, and no message was left. Blocked. Hmmm.... Seems suspicious to me.

Called me at 3 AM! What the hell. Not message left.

For me, it was an automated call providing me with a six digit access code that was required to complete my log in to vets.gov using id.me. Received the call immediately after entering my password.

Doesn't mean it's not being spoofed!
