I was making changes to my email account and it requires verification. As a result, I got a call from this number and it gave me a code to verify that I am indeed the owner of the account and have the code to verify that and can therefore make the changes. If you are getting a call from them that means someone is using your phone number to make changes to an email account probably not their own...

This number is used by Microsoft in validating your account information. My wife is using Windows 8.1 on her Pad and needed to update her account and had to verify it. It's a robo call that leaves a 7 digit validation code to get into your account settings.

This is a company that does callback verifications for other companies. For example, FollowMyHealth.com uses them to verify when an account is set up. This is to help prevent someone from setting up a fake account utilizing someone else's phone number and email. I don't know if it's used or own by Google, but when you set up a Google phone #, then Google wants to call the referring phone number to verify it's actually you setting up the account.
