I just booked with airbnb and wanted to use my home phone as confirmation...they call from this number to give you a 4 digit code to then enter on-line...it is all legit. If you haven't booked with airbnb then someone probably gave them your number by accident or something.
I got the same...is this a scam or somethine
Caller claims to be from Microsoft Technical Support saying you have a virus and will give you a code and when you use it you are opening up to Team Viewer and you are giving them access to your account and remote control.
Is zhis a verification call for Spotify acounts?
I am not even in the US or Canada and still this number called me twice today at about 4:30 GMT. The call took about 19 sec. during which the caller (robot or whatever) did not say anything.
Jorge, your comment is absolutely RUDE and it is wrong. VERIFY is a service that sends a code when you are trying to change a password on an account. It is set to keep hackers from changing your account password. I just received about ten calls in a row. I am furiously going through accounts to see which one was being hacked.
How can you find out if someone made an account with your phone number
Actually, they're correct. When you request a verification code to be sent to confirm your Hotmail email address, this is the number that comes up. I had them call both my cell and my work numbers because I couldn't remember which number I had used, and this was the number that came up in both of the caller ID's. It's for Microsoft.
I have received 3 in a row and never answered. Blocked so I wouldn't get any more.
In my case, yesterday, I was making changes to my settings at outlook.com including my password and this automated call provided me the number I had to type in to confirm my identity in the web browser. Caller ID was just the phone number:

Scammer spoofed this number, which is the US district court western division.
debt lawyer looking for somebody
another sneaky debt collector
Yes it did
I didn't recognize the number so I obviously was checking to see who it was
The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.
Quit smoking quit line. Not spam. I used the Quit line to quit smoking. This is a follow up call.
