I don't answer it, because I don't know who or what it is from. But a question: a number of people have said it is a valid number used by major corporations to perform actual resets of actual accounts upon actual requests of actual owners of those accounts. Is there any particular reason why scamming, criminal trash could not spoof the number and use it for their own nefarious purposes also?
PO did not REQUEST a code to change his information. The code was UNSOLICITED. I am now in the process of changing all ID's and password to my accounts BECAUSE some [***] got into my accounts phone, electric, email etc. Hope the same happens to you!!!
The wife was locked out of her Hotmail account for some reason. Microsoft required a security code to access her account. This number was on the caller ID when we received the code.
Received this call Aug 1, 2014 but was not home and have no answering machine for them to leave message. Called back twice to only a very fast busy signal. Due reading other posts I know now it is a bogus number.
Legit caller, even if recipient was unaware ... service for security/verification. If you rec'd call w/o expecting it? Somebody submitted your phone number; mighta been an accident on their part, or (and the only reason for any concern) they could have had their own reason.
I had signed onto my account and "supposedly microsoft was asking me to solve issues in the action center, It asked whether I wanted to receive a call or a text and I hit call. A call came in from this number, listed to a Jose Bohl, and an automated system gave me a 5 digit code to key in. Stupid me keyed in the number and now I'm concerned about being hacked.
I received two calls from the number 7148680120, after reading the comments below I do not know what is connected, but my computer out some sounds like preparing to call phone bothered me every hour.

just got a call from 888-431-7820. Told me I was breach of contract. Very hard to understand the lady. I dont have a contract with anyone that I know of. When I look to see the number call it tells me Claim Services.
