Got a call from 716-990-8492 and traced the number to:MARY BLACKMON 3131 Bellreng Dr Apt 15Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY-14304
got call 2 minutes ago, caller id said unknown. Am on do not call list. they have called before and I ignore
We never answer numbers we don't recognize. Our caller ID just showed the phone number - no names. Since we don't know anyone in the 716 area code I answered on the first ring and hung up. Again, if you don't recognize the number answer and hang up or just let you answering machine answer. I'm so tired of these scammers spoofing phone numbers.
just recv'd call at 11:30 am......woke me from my nap........caller id said Niagra Fls NY. I did not answer, they did not leave a msg
Just got my first call from this number.People, please think about what you are doing. The number is being FAKED bya bunch of scammers. The number USED TO BE owned by Mary Blackmon, who has had to change her number due to this abuse. So it is now "out of service".These days, almost all calls from this type of scammer show a falsifiedphone number. And the phone companies and the government have noincentive to solve the problem.Bob
Just another pain in the @%$. Don't understand why the Govt. can not do anything about these pests. It does no good to report phone numbers to DNC.
Medical alert device SCAM - Call received 12 Aug 2013 14:30 EDTCaller ID: unknown name 716-990-8492Caller was a robocall recorded message about a medical alert device. See Ohio Attorney General notice below;8/9/2013(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today warned that more than 200 Ohioans have reported unsolicited phone calls offering medical alert devices this year. About 40 percent of those calls were reported last month alone. Consumers who respond to the calls risk losing money or jeopardizing their personal information.“These calls have been circulating throughout the country, and we’re seeing more Ohioans filing complaints,” Attorney General DeWine said. “The most important thing to remember is not to respond to suspicious calls in any way. Don’t give out your credit card number or bank account information, and don’t press any buttons. Just hang up.” I put the phone on mute immediately upon answering, did not press any buttons. Caller disconnected after 15 seconds.
I got a call today from this number two times in 30 minutes. Caller ID say Niagra Falls NY. I never answer these calls. If it is important they will leave a message.
Looks like a telescammer. It's unusual to see a full name "Mary Blackmon" and legit-looking number on the caller ID but the reports coming in from others help clarify things real fast (thanks to sites like this).I figure if Mary is calling a bunch of people in rapid succession who don't know her then "she's" probably up to no good...
