Caller ID read "private call". When I answered, the caller was soliciting money on behalf of the "fire department". This area code is in a place 400 miles from where I live. Thought it very strange an area that far away would be soliciting. When I called back, I got the recording that the number was out of service.

Have had this number appear on my caller ID this week on a few calls. When I answer the phone, no response.

Received call......from "private user".....but phone # was clearly 718-621-1400 on the caller ID. When I researched this number online it is registered to ANDE INC. located at 6914 New Utrecht Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11228 (718) 621-1400. If you search a little farther, you will find that this is the same address for Landscaping BY Amorosi Incorporated, New Age Services, Thanks A Million Incorporated. But, when Il cook up the name for ANDE,I found the following Ande Inc., 5409 Australian Ave., West Palm Beach, FL. 33407 (561) 842-2474, Fax (561) 848-5538 I have e-mailed Ande Inc at their website........no response yet.

Today, 9/27/07, at 12:55pm I received a call that showed up as Private Caller, 718-621-1400. The person said Mr. J. I answered yes, but he said nothing else and hung up. I called the number and a recording said the number was not in service. I have no idea what the call was about.

WE GET CALLS SOMETIME THREE TIMES DAILY. TWO TIMES SOMEONE ANSWERED AND WHEN I ASKED WHAT THE WANTED THEY HUNG UP ON ME. THIS SUNDAY AT 9AM I RECEIVED A CALL AND NO ONE WOULD SPEAK...I HUNG UP. I AM REALLY TIRED OF THIS AND WANT IT TO BE STOPPED. WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO DO ANYWAY????? THE OTHER DAY A GUY SAID HIS NAME WAS CHRIS AND WHEN I ASKED WHAT HE WANTED HE HUNG UP.

I just received my second phone call from this number.When I said, "hello", they didn't say a word, so I kept quiet and they just hung up.They called my house earlier and did not leave a message. Does anyone know how this can be stopped-my husband is on the DO NOT CALL list, and that obviously means nothing.

I am on the do not call list but these people keep calling Does anyone know who they are?

I received a call from this number last night around 8:19 PM. My caller ID listed the name as "Private Caller". I said hello twice and heard nothing on the other end but silence.

My wife and I have been receiving phone calls from this number for over a year now. They won't say anything if me or one of my sons answers the phone. (They hang up immediately.)They seem to think my wife is going to donate something even though she's told them (the one time they did try to talk her into donating to the NY Policemen's/Fireman's fund) that "she will consider donating if they send her something in the mail!"That said, they are a persistent bunch and it's pretty annoying when you consider the fact that they refuse to talk when they are the ones calling.
