it happened to me toothey had been calling from past 3weeksdoes anyone know about this

I'm starting to get worried about this...thinking about calling cingular and the local law enforcement down in Florida to see if they can do anything about it...at this point I'm more than willing to pay to find the actual address and name behind this number and deal with it myself.

btw...I attend Mercer University...not GA Tech. Wanted to clarify because two others have said they were students from atlanta and the college they attend sent out an email about sensitive information being released by accident.

I received this same phone call. I thought it might have been a friend in florida but she wouldn't have a fake number. I want to know what is going on I always seems to get things like this! Creepy! Friday the 13th they better not be able to track me! my life is a scary movie

I believe it may be a student loan consolidation company... I've been getting one call per week for about 3 weeks. I graduated from the University of Texas in May 2006. I answered an 866 # that kept calling me & calling me around this time last year - it was One Simple Loan, a student loan consolidation company. They'd been calling & not leaving a message. I'd already consolidated, but I figured I'd humor the guy. BAD IDEA. He called me FIVE TIMES A DAY until December when my grace period ended. He'd even call in the mornings & at night. I'd hang up on him & he'd call me right back & leave the same message every time about being required to go over the forms with me. I'd have ppl tell him I'm not interested & he'd keep calling. They must work on commissions and your number keeps coming up in their "unresolved" queue, so they just keep calling & calling. They even started calling again this summer. Now this number is calling me, and I can only assume it is yet another loan consolidation company. Just ignore it.

I live in iowa city too but i have us cellular. this guy in my office said that people do that to track you and if you dont answer they know who you are because of your voicemail if you call back they know you have a legit number. I"m so pissed i called back

The same thing has happened to me, a few phone calls midday then at night and in the morning. I never answer the phone (cell) in time to get someone, but when I do I will use Chelsea's experience to tell the man/woman that the number they called is no longer used by me...hehehe. I graduated UMass in May 07

Just called me 15 minutes ago, I'm in Omaha, NE, just got my masters in December, and have Verizon. it looks like they creep westward across the country since IA was hit before me. i get this number 3 or 4 times a week for a couple months now
