If that's the case, then why aren't there people on this thread saying they gave up their $75 and never got it back? I live near Massanutten and I know they offer free stays like this in exchange for a marketing spiel. I filled out a form at papa johns and just got a call from them about 15 min ago. I think I'll answer next time they call after reading these replies.
I called the resort myself as any educated person with common sense would do. They said it's all legit, they do about 100 of them a week. Pay the deposit and go through the tour or don't. Don't fill out forms if you don't want your informatoon out there. Point blank. Case closed.
I filled out a form that KFC on Nursery Rd, Baltimore, MD for a free vacation. I've never won anything in my life but thought since it was at a KFC maybe it was legit. Two weeks later I got a call from the same number 1-757-821-0166 and spoke with a Dana & Mindy who said I won a $200 gift card for KFC and a 3 day/2 night vacation at Massanutten resorts, in VA. They insisted that my husband and I were on the phone to hear more about this vacation. My husband was busy watching the football game and they won't take to just me. They want to call us back at 6 pm cause this special offer expires at 9 pm est. That's when I seruched this number and read it's a scam. I intend to inform KFC about this but I wonder if they might get something for advertising about this vacation. It's getting bad that you can't trust anyone esp these free things.
Hahaha. I went to a pet expo and signed up for all of these GREAT prizes. I had no idea I was signing up for a timeshare promo. What a crock!! I had a lady that kept calling and saying I had won all of these prizes. She left a voicemail saying she would call back. I looked up the phone number and found out it was a complete scam. I just blocked this number. I work 2 jobs and run my own home business. I don't have time for this crap.
Received multi calls in one day from "Lily" about winning a prize (I did fill out an entry form at an event in Richmond, but it seemed a little sketchy). Message that was left was vague and when I called back I reached a resort company.
This number called me a total of 3 times. The first two times I missed the call and a person by the name of John that left a message stating that he received my information from the Maryland State Fair. Also, that I had an option to pick from a 42' flat screen tv, ipad mini, headphones or a camera that could be used on a bike or car. OH..and a trip for 2, 3 days and 2 nights stay in a resort in Virginia. The first called came at 5:15pm, 2nd call 6:20pm and lastly at 8:35pm. The last time he called I was able to answer and all this information I stated before sounded too good to be true. After speaking with him he stated he needed for me to hold so I can speak with his supervisor to verify this information. After talking to the supervisor she was then asking for information to pay them $75 in order to reserve my stay at the resort and that I would get my money back once I made my way to the resort after doing a 90 minute tour. She then stated if I did not do this that I would lose my free gift. I then stated to her that this sounded like a scam and they hung up. This was fortunate for me because I really felt skeptical about the situation.
This is a huge scam. They called me 8 days in a row till I answered and then wanted my family information immediately. Trying to get you to travel to a seminar where they can steal your money. When I said I wasn't interested, this dumb ***** slammed the phone down on me. Haha they are worst sales people ever.
This is from a entry form i filled out from an auto show i was at over the weekend; she just left a voicemail saying i won some cash award; I am sure i have to sit in some sales presentation to receive it.
