This is absolutely NOT a scam. This company is completely legitimate. They called us a few weeks ago about a form we filled out at our local Burger King. We booked a stay at Massanutten Resort over President's Day weekend. It really is a nice place.
Just got a call from them today at 5:30 PM. They called me Leslie (which is not my name) so I told them they have the wrong number and hung up. They called right back so i let it roll to voicemail. They left a message for Leslie saying that she filled out an entry form at Chicken Basket (don't know what that is and have never been there) and she won $125 and some other prizes and that they will call back in an hour to discuss the details. They just called again and i let it go to VM but this time they didn't leave a message. I wish I knew who Leslie was and why she gave out my number so I can "thank her" for getting me involved with these morons.
I also went to the Motor Trend Car Show, the one in Baltimore, and filled out the entry form for the new 2013 vehicle at the front door. That 757 number has been calling me on and off for the past week or two but wouldn't leave a voicemail, so I googled the number and came across all this. I decided to answer when they called me last night at 6:30pm and told them I read about them online and I knew it was a gimmick and ya'll are scammin' people etc etc etc LOL. They "reassured" me that they are not a scam and that I've "won a vacation for up to 4 adults at the Massanutten Resort in Virginia (www.massresorts.com) and that I've also won a bunch of "other prizes". My phone was dying so I had to get off the line but they said they'd call back at 8:30pm. They called at 8:33pm... You were 3 minutes late, so I did not answer, lmfao.
I got SEVERAL phone calls this week. I went out and returned home at 9 pm. I had 7 missed phone calls from these people. They called again at 9:30 telling me about how I signed up at Speed Street in Charlotte NC (which I did), blah, blah, blah. They needed my husband to finish getting me set up for my 2N/3D trip. I told her he wasn't home. Then the line was momentarily disconnected. She said she could call him 3 way and I told her he was at work. The line goes dead again and I hung up. She calls back and my husband answers saying to never call again. I never gave her a chance to ask for money because I knew it was a scam.
Oh yeah, and the lady on the phone "Miss Burnside" (sounds phoney as crap..) told me "Congratulations" over and over and that I should "go play the lottery" since I'm on such a streak of luck! Lmfao. I hope they DO call back so I can mess with them a little bit... Shame on Motor Trend's International Car Show for allowing this type of BS at their venue. I'm calling the marketing/sales director for Motor Trend's car shows (Martha Carrasco at 949-705-3135) to tell her this is ridiculous and shame on them.
Got a call from them last week. I filled out a form at Subway to win a mustang, and they called me about a vacation in the mountains. We went up Saturday night and stayed until Monday. It's a nice place. They took us on a tour of the resort, lasted about two hours. In return for that, they gave us a $200 Visa card. $75 of that was the deposit we had to put up. Plus we got a disney trip. They have a water park that the kids loved. All in all it was a nice getaway. I recommend.
This isn't a scam. It's pretty straight forward. You give them $75 so you have more of an incentive to get it back. You get your gift card and vacation after you listen to somebody try and sell you timeshares. If you have the knowledge to look up numbers that call you, then I would assume you'd have the knowledge to look up a company.
Got the same call. If the people who say they went there and had a great time and all that really did go there and gave up the $75 over the phone, then why are they on this page looking up the number to see where it is coming from? Why would a satisfied customer look up the number of a legitimate company that they trusted enough to give their credit card number to? That makes no sense and is proof that the positive messages are plants by the scammers.
3 calls tonight from this number. I think these companies pay for space in Fairs and Trade Shows and offer gift cards as a front for this operation. I was at such an event. I will NOT be entering anymore of these "contests."
