So I found this site after posting and add on Craigs List about my lost wallet. I began receiving text messages from "Ashley" , deaf who "found" it. She wanted more info on me to confirm it was mine. Long story short, it was a scam. Tonight a guy called who said he "found" my wallet. He got dirty and rude so I hung up. I came to this trusty site to enter his # and found it is some new gmail phone thing. No way for me to trace who he is or where really. MAIN POINT... both got my number from Craigs list. Im receiving weird mail and "collection" calls now too.

got a call from a man that I could not understand he said that he needed me to go to my paypal account to get a refund on my computer software I hung up the phone he called back and called me a mean name which I just hung up again!!!

I have got 4 calls from this number, he is saying some absolute vulgar sex things. I was going to call police but it sounds like a waste of time if these are fake numbers. thanks

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to configure and use google voice on my chromebook. I began using google voice and have made outgoing calls only, with no problems, but the page I call from is funky in that there is simply a box in the lower right corner of my gmail/google page that has a keypad that I can use to dial and call. I don't recall being asked if I wanted to choose a number, or that I was ever given a randomly assigned telephone number. I can't find a settings page or anything else where I can see what my number is, or how to patch people in to a conversation or use the other features. After searching awhile to no avail I called my cellphone from my computer and this number came up (760-705-8888). I then googled the number and landed on this forum. Since this is a generic number that is apparently not specific to me (I tried calling my computer from my cell phone but the call didn't go thru), I can't use it to have others call me. In other words, I still don't know my google phone number.Do you have any place you can point me to figure this thing out? My technical ineptitude is showing but I'm not an idiot, and I am getting frustrated at my inability to figure this out. Whatever advice you have is appreciated. Thanks, Pat
