I just got a creepy prank call and there was personal information about me that really freaked me out. i would love to know who is harrasing me so i can report them.
Do you people even bother to READ the thread before posting? The number itself is NOT A SCAM, but it can be used by people to scam others. Its a damned generic number assigned by google to EVERYONE who uses the google voice to make free phone calls. Geez.. how much simpler can it be, damn, its a scam, no its not, yes it is.. read before making lame [***] comments which make you look retarded
yap, this is the number that shows up on my phone,I received calls from wednesday morning until lastnight 11pm.Every seconds and minute. Please stop harrasshing my number.
They called me 5 [***] times in 2 mins and left 2 voicemails that were silent! I don't know who this is!
Got a call from them. Actually i receive a lot of calls of "companies" calling on behalf of Bell Aliant. Thing is they aren't even from Bell Aliant. They are scamming us using random voice-over-ip services, calling, saying we have been selected for a super free promo! Supposedly i won a new, free cellphone! All free, etc. etc. free minutes, free my-five type of deal, etc...I played along once or twice and when they start talking about asking for my CC info i hang up. All they do is ask for your credit info to make sure "it's really you", but then you get charges on your card and get nothing. Heard a lot of people call bell after a few weeks to ask where their new cellphone is, and bell has no idea because they aren't affiliated, you just got scammed!People : make sure you never give any of your info on the phone, when you get a strange call like this, even your address, date of birth, etc... cause they then have a "confirmed identity" and then can try and steal it.Also : check with your phone company, a lot have new services to block specific numbers. WHen i had Rogers, they had a feature that cost 4$ a month but you could block a number, if they called you, you had to do *60 and follow the instructions. Now i'm on Aliant and they have call director, you can choose to send specific numbers, like this one, directly to voicemail so your phone doesn't ring. You can even set a "Night time off" schedule, and priority numbers, all by rules, for exemple :Rule 1 : all calls from mom and dad, brother and sister, will go through, anytimeRule 2 : all calls between midnite and 6 am won't ringSo all family calls get in, since rule 1 is over rule 2, and then all the other calls go to voicemail during the nightime, so even if a new telemarketer with a new number that you haven't blacklisted yet calls you, it will go to voicemail.Surveys during dinner time? Rule 3 : all calls between 6pm and 7 pm goes to voicemailLet me tell you, it's about time the tel-co companies give us some tools to have some peace and quiet :D
I hate callers like this that think we are stupid. trying to tell me that there was something wrong with my computer, Rudely told him not to call my number again and hung up. He called again and i told him he must be stupid to F off and hung up. he called again and i pressed answer on the phone and put it down. don't be nice to these scammers !
I'm getting frequent calls from unknown number all the time and when I try to talk then it gets instantly disconnected. I asked my telephone company to track it and also reported the matter to the police yesterday. Despite this I got a call from unknown number at midnight and soon after that two more calls followed with their number on the call display. This number is 1-760-705-8888.
Hey this is the number I get when I call from my Gmail Account. But I guess this is a Free Gmail Number so anybody can use and Harass anyone. So please people who get call from this number please avoid.. It might be a Scam!
We have been receiving numerous calls from this number, in great profusion, several times a day, for a few weeks now. Sometimes they call as many times as 20 in a row. And, almost always they are calling at inappropriate times. What can I do to report this number to the authorities as I understand that it's the general Gmail Voice caller ID so very hard to trace back to the instigator. And, Google Voice, if you are monitoring this, I willl NEVER use your services again unless you provide your voice users with a caller ID that will not allow them to harrass so many people, as they clearly are (as witnessed in this and many, many other blogs on this very same issue).
