Received a call from this number yesterday. Didn't recognize the number and caller name showed OPTUM. I let the call go to the answering machine where I heard a woman's voice state that the call was for (my name) regarding a recent claim with UHC. I picked up the call and spoke with her. I was very leery at first, but she provided details of the call I had with UHC last week regarding some billing issues. She basically just went over the claims I had questioned UHC about, further explained what my obligations would be and asked if I had any questions. She had very accurate info that matched the claims that I had pulled from my online account with UHC and with what I had heard from UHC in my phone conversation with them last week. In fact, on one of the claims where UHC had paid a portion, I thought I was liable for the remaining amount of the claim. She told me that what UHC paid was the "contracted amount" since I was in-network and that I was NOT responsible for the remaining balance. So, IF this call was a scam, it was very elaborate and would require some "inside" connection to/from UHC or else my phone line is "bugged" or I've had a serious hack on my computer. At no point did she ask for any credit card info, SSN. etc. other that asking me to confirm my name/DOB. She did inform me up front that our conversation would be recorded.

I received a phone call from this number and will confirm it was from UHC. I then received an email from Desiree M Agramon with the CC to Arthur B Mijares. She said she is with Optum's Coordination of Benefits Department. They gave me the following numbers to call. 866-793-9371 ext 66263 to call and get more information. They also said to call the number on the back of my card and ask for Optum Coordination of Benefits.I am going to call UHC to confirm that this is an actual, relaible, no spammy company. I recommend you do the same.
this one actual got to ring the phone we answered as we have UHC but no one spoke so we checked here sure enough it's a scammer. Now blocked if UMC wants me they have my email and address dirty S O B's should be jailed for this c r a p!
This has to stop we don't want calls asking us personal information over the phone if this is for real it's a really bad idea!!!!
this number was in my blocked Numbers it, not a number United healthcare uses they use 800 numbers so who ever it was called me before using a different caller id. now with Computers, they can put fake phone numbers and fake caller ids . its not safe to call them back if you do they know how to act like the real thing. i dont give united health care my phone any more make them use the mail like the good old days, or go to thair web sight and use thair Email.
How about leaving a brief description of the reason for the call on the voice mail not a generic recording saying please call the number on the back of your card. Or if you don’t get an answer don’t leave a voice mail at all. I just got off the phone with a confused member.
