Unknown and out-of area # appeared on my cel. I dismissed it and came here. You can't teach a scammer, but perhaps over time we will all dissuade them from this kind of activity. For folks using Windows Mobile there is a free app called call firewall that can balcklist selected #s that I use on my HTC wizard. I'm not aware of any analogues for other platforms, but they are either out there or coming soon.
got a call fromthis number at 12:17 today. I didn't hear it ring or answer. Anywho reverse lookup found nothing but Intellius said they had something - if I want to pay 99 cents:(Called back, line is "disconnected".

I didn't recognize the number so I obviously was checking to see who it was
The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.

Unsolicited call. Wanted me to complete my "voter profile." I've voted from this address for over 20 years.
It happened to me they got into my computer and got all bank info they took over $4000. from me left me with nothing. Don't trust anyone this was a setup.
