These losers have called my telus cell # 3 times. The first time it was because I was a valued bell customer, the second was valued costco member, the last time was today and I'm apparently a valued air canada customer. I haven't flown with air canada in over 15 years. They are purely a bunch of idiodic scam artists. I asked for a supervisor and informed them that I am registered with the dncl and they must not understand english. They kept trying to peddle their lies and scams. I WILL find out who they are and proceed against them for harassment. What a bunch of losers.
Just received a call from this number. No message left. Called back..# not in service!!! SCAM!!!!
I have received this call a few times myself. Being a former phone company employee I remember this as possibly being a scam, by pressing 1 you are giving them access to dial anywhere in the world using your number. Don't press 1 ever for any number you don't know.

I got a call from this number with voice recording stating "since you are a valued Air Canada customer, we have a prize waiting for you...press "1" etc". I am not an AC customer and so I didnt press anything just to see what would happen next. Phone disconnted. SCAM!
July 20, 2011 @ 10:05 Received a call from 780-947-8989. "Congratulations collector. You have won 5000 air miles...."I knew it was a phony call, but I pressed 1 anyway to play them along. After about 25 mins of them yaking at me, I put them on hold while I went to discuss it with my wife and our 5 fictious kids. Heheh. Came back and gave a phony credit card number - missing a couple digits. I explained that's all the number I have on my card.... but I told them I'll check the card number with my wife and would they mind holding.... (HA!)Ended up being a vacation holiday package from Tropical Travel. They wanted my credit card to charge US$699 to it (+ an extra $70 for my 3 kids over the limit - only 2 free).They stayed on hold for about 11 minutes! Total call time: approx 40 mins. Wonder how much that cost them and I tied up both an agent and a supervisor!

When you answer the phone they hang up. They are trying to see if the number is actually associated with a person or not. Most likely they will clone the number.
This number called the other day didnt answer as I didnt recognize the number. Turns out my hunch was right another spam caller. It's the only calls I get nowadays
