I didn't read all the comments here, but I probably have a similar story:I didn't answer the 800# calling me. But I called this 800# from my office landline to f*ck with them. The automated voice is female and smooth like BofA's. I know because I have a BofA card. But after a bit the voice asks for my credit card # OR MY SOCIAL SECURITY #. Really, are we that stupid?!?I called again and decided to put in a fake credit card #. These guys are good, would only accept a fake # if the first 4 digits were correct + remaining 12 digits were fake. Smooth dude Andy from NY comes on, and in my Office Space dweeb voice I grill him. Why ask for SS#? I called the real BofA about my account and no one called me, why are you calling me? Hung up on the tool.

I posted before. This is FRAUD IN THE FIRST DEGREE.Just to be clear - I worked for a credit card company from 1995-1997. I worked for Merrill Lynch for 16 years. ML is now owned by BofA. I have had a BofA credit card since 1995, and the card is now branded ML because ML was bought by BofA. And I remember a long time ago, BofA using this 800#.These fraudsters are slick. I called the real BofA and spoke with a guy in Card Services, the 800-421-2110 # was used at one time but is no longer used. The fraudsters hijacked a legit old # and are fooling people. Also the voice menu lady sounds the same, and ASKS FOR YOUR FULL CREDIT CARD # OR SOCIAL SECURITY #. A legit credit card company would never ask for this in a voice menu. Maybe the last 4 digits of your card if you call a legit #, but never the full #. And never a SSN.BEWARE AND AVOID. THE FRAUD IS RATCHETING UP.

Same old credit card interest lowering scam.... I am sure the number is spoofed. I answered just to let myself scream at the scum bag! BLOCKED!

Scam, people asking for personal information stating they are with Bank of America or Capital One

got an automated call stating that my credit card was past due and that my interest rates were going to increase. I pressed 1 menu option to talk to a person. when I asked how they got my number he immediately hung up.

Recording mentioned Credit Card Services wanting to lower my credit card interest rate and that I never answer their letters and couldn't reach me by phone before. NEVER GOT A LETTER. HAVE NOT HAD ANY CREDIT CARDS SINCE 2110. I told them that and they hung up! I get this recording often with different phone numbers.
