Number calls several times each week with an identifier of Master Card but never leaves a message
Got a call from this number saying it was my bank and to contact their fraud dept. I knew right away it wasn't legit as my bank doesn't work that way, but I was curious none-the-less and called them back at the number they left me and it was a sex line. How stupid?!
This is a legit number. I received a call from this number, and found out that my bank account had been cleaned out. No fun.
It's legit, as Emily wrote. It's one of the phone numbers associated with USAA's Fraud Line. BUT, as we're warned. Call USAA at the number YOU TRUST, not the one that shows up on your phone. Go to the USAA website or look in the wallet card they sent you.
Yep, it's legit. I still chose to call the main usaa number and be transfered to the fraud line. This way I am absolutely sure I am talking to a legit person. I recommend anyone who gets a call form this number still do that just to be sure. They said a flag had been added to my account this morning. They read off a list of charges that had attempted to go through. Thankfully USAA is super fast and blocked all but one small charge that was fraud. They blocked thousand's of dollars (total) worth of stuff from being charged to my account! I love USAA!
This is from USAA's fraud dept. Like others here, I didn't believe it at first and called USAA main line and got transferred to fraud and they confirmed it was their number and they had stopped weird activity on my card.
A valid call... My bank wanted to verify activity on my account. Since I was travelling out of state, I realized I needed to call them. They had me confirm the last 5 transactions were by me.
Yep, USAA fraud. someone called me today from this number and I googled it and brought me here, I called USAA number I knew 531 usaa....and of course some crooks used my card all over New York and I live down south. but USAA was on it, let the investigation begin. I dont know how they got my card info cause its in my wallet. Kuddos to USAA.
I just received a call from this number. It IS USAA's fraud prevention. I called the # back, and then called the regular number. Thank Heaven! 2 transactions had hit my account and 4 more attempted. New card coming and account fixed. Thank you USAA!!
Yes, it is indeed USAA's Fraud prevention department, as confirmed by USAA directly. I just got called because my normal debit card activity is the same day to day, week to week, month to month; same places, similar amounts for gas, grocery store trips, utilities, mortgage, etc. However, this morning - I made 3 separate purchases from $16 to $48 from Sam's Club on-line (which shows up as an out of state transaction several states away from my home), a $300+ Dr. Bill in a city about an hor from my home to the south, followed by an almost $2100 payment for furniture I just purchased an hour form my home in the opposite direction to the north of town. So yes, USAA's Fraud department thought the activity looked suspicious and out of my normal routine. Because the number I called from (not the one I received the call on) was recognized as one listed on my profile, all I had to do was confirm that I made those 5 transactions - nothing more...no personal details were asked of me to enter. KUDOS USAA!
